Looking to pick up a different summer car. Right now I think I have it narrowed down to a 2012+ C63 AMG P31 Coupe, M3 or 911(as well specd and low mile as possible) trying to keep it under 50k.

Looking for great power, solid reliability, minimal depreciation and somewhat functional back seats. Anyone have any ideas that I may be missing ?

    Some examples

I had looked at that 911 as well. Seems like it might be abused.
I waste a lot of time looking for cars. looking for same thing.
    My list:
    Lotus exige or elise
    911
    240z
    M3

You lost me at 240z. Also looked at the Lotus as well but with a 7 and 4 year old, back seats are a priority.

If they actually build the C8 mid engine vette I can see myself making a terrible decision and financing a new one lol

Ya I get it, and they are cool, but I just don't see myself as a 36 year old driving around in a modified 240z..too boy racer for me

I've toyed with the Idea of building an Ultima kit car but I don't think I have the time to commit to it right now. Maybe in a few years when the boys are older and can help

My buddy just sold his c63 for a brand new gts4.

The gts looks amazing and handles out of this world but the exhaust note on the c63 was one of the best ever

    Factory or aftermarket?

If aftermarket Do you know what exhaust?

I'd like to start with long tubes and a full exhaust, and a eurocharge tune. Supposedly they are good for close to 600hp with that alone. My buddy has a superchagred sedan running low 10's. They are amazing cars

That first car is sick...but if I was throwing cash at expensive cars I would personally go M3 or 911 over the Benz if the right one come along.

240z's can look beautiful if you do it right like this...drool

Honestly I think you're pretty much on the mark with your picks but I think the 911 and M3 are more likely to maintain their value over the C63. If you can scoop up a vintage 911 or a mid-90's turbo for the right price you'd probably make money on it when you went to sell it in 10 years unless you drive it a lot. Would you consider a GTR? They're pretty boy-racer though...

I would consider a late model GTR. No JDM though.

My theory on the AMG is the NA V8 is the last of its kind and I'm hoping that will hold up for resale.

Realistically I wont own it for more than a year or two. The goal is to work my way up to a Ferrari but that's a few years away

I think it was an aftermarket milltek system. It was the only modification done to it and it was perfect.

I’d also go for the sedan over the coupe. More sleeper esque

355s are getting dirt cheap. The frequent engine out services could be the reason for that though.

I love the C63 N/A, but would love a V8 where I can row my own boat like the e90 m3. The C63 will continue to drop while the manual e90 M3 will hold its value.

For what they are and where they fit in the timeline of Ferrari they are "cheap". You can find a decent example in the states for 60k USD, but the 20k engine out service cancels that out hahah

I was looking at a 360 in Victoria that had F1 transmission issues for $60k. Unfortunately he texted me this morning that it sold. I have a local exotic mecanic and was hoping to fix and flip it.

355 are maintenance pigs and I don't fit in them. Although I do love the look of them

I wish I would have Turbo charged the ISF, it was fast with the mods I had done, so I can only imagine what 650 would have been like.

All those cars you mentioned are so different though. I think you need to figure out what you want. To be completely honest, it wouldn't really consider it working up to a Ferrari if you are going from modern c63, M3, or 911, and then getting into a 355 or 360. You'll drop a couple gens in tech and performance, and quadruple your maintenance costs. The C63s are beasts but really are just muscle cars, the M3 I wouldnt really consider in the same class, more M5 territory. A 997.2 C2S would be a great combination of handling/power/appeal. And they do seem to hold value quite well. They are also prob the most reliable of those choices.

I currently have a '12 Camaro SS supercharged. It's fast but I just don't like it. I have driven the 911 C4S and while fun, I don't think I'd be happy in less than a 911T, which is out of my budget.

I love the look and sound of the C63, the newer M3's dont appeal to me as much even though I could have one in a manual which I would prefer.

As for the Ferrari, I realize there is absolutely no logical reason to want/own one. More expensive, slower, maintenance costs etc. I've wanted one my whole life, I'm sure Ill end up owning one for a season or a few months and getting it out of my system

Pulled the trigger on this guy over the weekend. 2013 C63 with P31 and tech package. I don't think I could possibly be happier with my decision.
