I mounted this new emergency brake on my toyota today. It rocks, holds the truck easily on a 45 deg hill, and cheaper than replacing the original stuff, mounts right to the drive shaft.
The pic under the truck is not mine, mines a little rougher than that. Here is mine, I've always been a fan yota trucks
Thats pretty Cool! Does it end up coming through the floor or do you have to get out and under to set it?
By the looks of the arm on it with the spring and the fitting in the end of it. I'd say a cable hooksto it and ends up on the existing ebrake or something.
it would seem weird to have to get out and turn your ebrake on while your car/truck is rolling away down a hill
yeah thats what i figured. i didnt see the hole on the end of the lever at first, but now that i look closer, that makes sense.
thats really cool. those trucks are known to have stock brakes that wont hold their own weight. hafta keep this mod in mind when i find a yota...
I just re-did all my rear brakes...and my ebrake still wont hold my truck on a steep hill. Whats the cost of this contraption ? I like it ! wish I thought of it.
