First new Camaro came into work this week. SS, auto (delays on the manuals). The car was in the showroom for the weekend, but is now at a show somewhere. The first customer orders are due at the end of the month. Here are a few pics I grabbed with my phone before it left.

Looks and sounds great, Chev should have brought it out 2 years ago though

It was at my GM Product Plus training yesterday. I hated it until I sat in it and saw it in person. Its pretty fucking sweet. I skipped most of the training on it since I cant sell Chevrolet.

The only thing I dont like are the angel eyes, I think its a rip off of BMW

The stripes should have been painted on, the vinyl is tacky

The little scoop above the emblem and below the hood could have been functional, theres just black plastic behind it. Not a huge deal but it bugs me.

The gauges on the console are a nice touch but you have to completely look away from the road to see them.

Really all those are minor issues, the car itself is great looking, and even the base having 304hp is something else. It wont be a volume seller thats for sure, but Forbes has 12 sold already with $5k deposits, according to one of their managers.

My good friend was at the training thing. He was pretty stoked about it. Sent me a few pics. He works at Forbes as well.

    300HP t0 425HP though

I really love Ford as far as being the best domestic manufacturer and all, and I love the pony cars. But they have got to do better than 300HP out of a V8 and still be in the same price ballpark. I know the Shelby is 500HP but 30K more.

The base v6 Camaro has 304HP for fuck sakes.

Not that the Mustang doesn't haul ass, it sure does that, its just odd thats the best they could do.

thats the way its always been though. The Camaro has had more HP, and more weight and for more $$$$

But they say the Mustang is gonna get the ecoboost turbo and the base will have 340+hp and the 5.0 will be back pushing 400+ :D

May look into buying one of these this summer. Depending on what I need a vehicle for and what the prices will be.

Give it 6 months and credits will be huge on them. We have $7500 credits on G8s right now with the option for an additional $750. We have a demo with 10k on it we would sell for $30k out the door. GT with leather and a sunroof :eek7:

What? Why? Aren't you a student just getting out of school?

I wouldn't even think about spending that much on a car anytime soon.

I'm a student coming out of school with 0 debt and cash in the bank, working for Shell as an engineer. I'd like to get a nice new vehicle as a graduation present to myself.

But as I said it all depends on cost. If its outside of my budget I won't buy one, don't know what my budget is yet until I get to Calgary and get settled in.
