    Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8130/4.3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

So my gym location is closing and all contracts are cancelled. I need to find a new gym. I live in Fall River and work downtown on George St. Any suggestions? We go home via Dartmouth. I was thinking the Sackville sports stadium maybe (pool is a plus). Thoughts? Shellie wanna be my gym partner? :)

Ok, I'm getting convinced on SSS. 2 Gyms, pool, rink, classes, nutrition program, fitness program....pretty good for the price of the membership I think!!

The great thing about Nubody's is...they have lots of clubs, and you can use all of them

    Things I liked:
    Pilates/yoga class
    My personal trainer

    Things I didn't like:
    Didn't like the atmosphere really
Skinny girls in makeup and $100 yoga pants
Felt uncomfortable in the weights section and out of place because of the guys that hung out there.

I just felt uncomfortable in my own skin there....I dunno. Hard to explain.

    Ultimately, I just stopped going.

They have Nubody's for women in a few places.

As for the skinny girls in make up in $100 pants, they are at every gym. If they bother you that much (and why they bother you, I don't know. Who gives a shit what size people are, or what they're wearing at the gym. fuck i wear grimey ass sweat pants and fugly shirts)

and what's wrong with the atmosphere? it's a gym. it smells like sweat. people are working out and trying to better themselves... it's not like fights are breaking out or people are pouring their protein shakes over your head and pulling your pants down

I just didn't like it there, ok? What is it to you anyway?

I need to like where I'm going to stay motivated to do it. So I'm exploring other options to better myself. Is that a problem?

Lol. Calm down, I was just curious as to your reasoning behind a vague statement.
I was curious, it's a top notch club
Not at all. The fact you are eating healthy and looking to continue that is huge. I just thought the hate on Nubody's was odd; I have never heard anyone say anything negative about it before (except price). I also thought the comment about skinny girls in $100 yoga pants was a bit weird (for reasons I stated), but hey, if it makes your uncomfortable for whatever reason, it's not my concern. If you're more comfortable elsewhere, give'r! But chances are, those kinds of girls will be there as well. just saying!

After talking with Shellie last night, I'm pretty convinced about Sackville Sports Stadium.

The membership that she has includes A LOT and is the same price if not cheaper than Nubodys. And it includes 2 gyms (including a women's only gym), pool, rink, classes, designing a fitness program, healthy eating program, etc etc etc. And a gym partner

SSS is a good deal. I love the pool using abilities. If it was closer to me than Nubodys, chances are I would use it, too!

I totally understand what you are saying, Jenn :)
I normally hang out in the women's sections of the nubodies during busy periods, and if its not too busy, I'll go out to the machines in the main area.
It makes me uncomfortable when guys stare (certainly not saying everyone does, but there always tends to be the few that go to hte gym just to sit on the machines and watch the ladies walk by) And the miss perfects are right beside me.. makes me feel inadequate :happysad: (I think thats the best way to explain it)

So.....we may or may not be moving....what is the price like for a SSS membership? And I wonder if they have a discount for hospital employees.

Shellie told me the super membership I just described is around $50 month, and they have family deals too that may be cheaper.

I am totally thinking of taking aqua fitness, because of issues with my knees that make impact not so good on them, so the pool is a huge plus for me. And SSS is 1 exit away from our house. Super close to Fall River.

bi-weekly payments. She said she signed up for 2 years, and it was $18 to sign up and she paid a payment and a half up front (total payment was just over $60 for the first time), then $23 bi-weekly or something. And she said they have family plans that may be cheaper if you both want to go.

Interesting interesting. The kids love swimming too, so I may look into the full family prices. Do you have to call, or can you find rates online?

You'd have to call, because they have different packages that include different things. So you choose the stuff you want, and they build a package around it.
