This time of the year, already planning on a Bruins and Celtics game. What else is a must see/do in Boston? What would be the best area for us to stay that close to most things. Also gonna try to do some partying so anyone know of any good bars/clubs?
I always liked 99 Steakhouse for eats. Check out the area around Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. As for bars/clubs, I've got no clue...
Legal Seafood the one by the aquarium is my fave but they are all good and Pizza Regina in the italian district about a 1km from TD Banknorth center also I like El Peron Taqeria but they are closed due to fire
when I went last we got a one Bedroom on the commons for $160 a night http://www.boston-bnbagency.com/index.html I would suggest visit the Aquarium, Newbury Street, Filenes Basement, Fanueil hall
Oh if you ever wanted to see Blue Man group Boston is teh place they have really small theatre they perform in there
ahh the original in Downtown Boston is closed until next year (I am staying on the same block as one when I am in NYC next month) I would love to be a Filene's for the Running of the Brides
I was down there for the seaood show, in 02.. Had a blast, theres soem really fine dining, and nice Pubs in Boston, but I cant remember the names of the streets..... I went to Macarthys Pub and Grill one night, (Newbury St.) and in a drunken haze wandered with our group from Halifax (people I did business with) all over that area of Boston. First time I ever drank Gunness(sp). Where are you staying?
Check out Newbury Street, typical shopping area, but there are some cool unique shops hidden amongst the designer shops. I second staying near Faneuil Market. And go see Fenway even if there isn't a game going on.
I had a blast at Hurricane O'Rieley's. Its really close to where the Celtics play. Go there before the game for beers. And get the fucking NE Clam Chowder. God damn it is good. Order 2 bowls though. I was sad when I was done the first one.
Mmmmm, Great place! Try the clam chowdah, it's amazing. A agree with all these stops.. And depending on who you're going with... I stayed at Boston College(rez), private rooms with bathrooms, and lots of different people to meet
Word to the above.. seriously just walking around Boston you will be in awe all day...it's the most amazing city.. so much history.. Go to Little Italy to eat and find a place called Mikes Bakery.. they have the most amazing canolies and anything else you can think if.. seriously line up around the block Harvard was fun.. just being in Cambridge was amazing... it's like being in a movie.. you feel smart just walking around!!! Ummm it's totally work it we were there for 4 days and spent a half a day in Wrentham.. the deals are unreal... So jealous Lucas!!!! Wish I was going again
like someone said before the aquarium. and also their center of science is pretty cool too, they had props from star wars movies there, an omnimax, giant lighting machine and more pretty cool stuff, it's a pretty big place. if you're into that sort of thing then it's hte place for you
Thanks for the help guys! Anyone ever deal with scalpers for tickets? looks like all the tickets for the celtics game are sold out online. Not sure yet.. haven't had much time yet to look at what areas would be good/whats best for us.
I've never been to Boston, but I have a friend who goes to MIT. I say you should go there and take a few pictures.. just because it`s MIT.
