It's the start of 5 weeks off for me so I'm not even really thinking of it as a long weekend. The company I work for shuts down completely for the first week of July and then I've got a 4 week sabbatical that looks like:

    - backpacking trip in the Cascade mountains with a group of teenagers, should be epic.
    - arrive back home, transfer my camping gear from my backpack to my bike and head out on a 4 day solo bikepacking trip.
    - my brother visits for about 4 days.
    - head to NS for 10 days.
    - end the sabbatical with a 5 day backpacking trip in the Olympic mountains, just my wife and I. Bear canisters required - some of the trails we're taking over mountain passes are listed as primitive, it's going to be epic!

I can't wait - work has been a shit show for about 6 months. Things completely blew up again on one of the projects last night. I need to shut down my work brain.

Friday- Booked in two small service calls close to home in the morning. I’ll have those done before the wife gets out of bed. Then when I get home I’ll be doing some yard work and relaxing.

Saturday - Leaving early in the morning and going 4wheelin for the day. Coming home around supper time then bon fire and beers in the back yard

Sunday and Monday I’m dedicating mostly to hanging out with my dogs and maybe my wife. Depends what the dogs wanna do though

I could see that being funny if it wasn't because of medical conditions. But you do that because #RealityCheck

Installed a fair share of the toilets and sinks in 75 Abbington, and ended up doing the majority of the dishwasher installs and the repairs to dishwashers who were installed by a third party.

I’ve done the majority of the plumbing at the new building at the start of Abbington. I was the only plumber from our company there from like November to April.

I’ve also tinkered a little bit at 28 Abbington and I did the parkade plumbing at The Broadside on Broad St

So yeah I’ve done a little work in that area

No joke, I’ve had people on more than one occasion shit in a toilet that was sitting on the floor waiting to be installed. No toilet paper….separate builders!

Oddly enough, caulking fixtures isn’t in our scope of work when we do stuff for Mosaik Properties. It’s done usually by the labourers they hire. Our job is just to get it functional. They tell us to not even pull the plastic film off the tubs and showers when we install them.

If you would like it caulked, let the superintendent know. Maybe that unit got forgotten about. I’m currently in the building at the start of the street and toilets are all in on the first floor and they have been caulked. Same building owner.

In residential, yes. Commercial properties it depends on the builder. In one building I did we caulked toilets and tubs, but the building owner that owns Kim’s place hires a lot of foreign workers to do that small stuff. Why pay a guy $40 an hour to caulk 320 tubs and toilets when you can pay a guy $10 an hour to do it?

my residential dude didn’t do it. I had to have a caulking guy come in like 3 months ago and do everything as part of the home warranty process which was pretty annoying

I prefer to do my own, I actually kind of enjoy doing it.

It’s not code here to caulk toilets, but it should be strictly for sanitary reasons. Lifting a toilet in any house with young boys is disgusting because piss runs underneath them if they miss the mark. It’s code in the states to caulk them.
