So, my new Puppy never really makes a peep. Until you leave him alone. How do you break this habit? It's driving all of us nutzo. We've been told to leave him be until he stops barking... any other ideas?
Polaris used to howl like someone was torturing him when we left him alone. We ignored him. Now he doesn't even acknowledge we're leaving or come to the door to watch us go.
I have never had this problem with PC , she is always such a good girl when I leave, but I always leave the tv on when I am gone as well.
That's what we're doing now. And yeah he sounds like someone is torturing him. SLkjfasdf. I never thought of doing this actually, I'm gonna try it tomorrow when I leave for school. ^ Tv = good idea. Thanks Ladies
I'm so cross-eyed from thesis work that I read this as "Kong filled with goodies then frozen cat can also be a good distraction when you leave"
Ohh one of those. I'll definitely try one of those. But really... no dog food no care. He's not a very treat/food oriented dog. He's just attention oriented. I even tried peanut butter.
Yeah fill it with all sorts of goodies. Cut up some hotdogs and bake them for 15min or so. toss some in with PB or Cheese wiz or both! Add some more of whatever you want, then freeze. Its just something to keep them occupied
We stopped confining Corkie to one room when we left after he was house broken. Now hes fine with being home alone. Being alone in the car is another thing though, sometimes hes fine. Other times he goes nuts.
He didn't do it the first few days and it's only when he's alone he barks for like 15 - 20 minutes and then calms down and goes to sleep.
My cat is the same as your puppah. She sits at the bottom of the stairs and crys "meows" all the damn time , she did it this morning, its so annoying. She wants someone to start calling her name, and come down the stairs and pick her up and pat her. I think she misses the company of blackie being around.
