I've actually published apps (one actually had several hundred active users a day) and I never ran into any device specific issues Probably more issues making a cross browser web app tbh
It’s called being open minded and not brand blind. If something works for me, I’ll use it. I don’t need new tech, I want stable tech, and so far the iPhone has been exponentially more stable and reliable. There are things I miss, but the bottom line is that this stuff just works better.
Your apps were pretty lightweight from a resource perspective so the hardware they run on wasn't as much of a factor. Scott 's example of Lightroom mobile is a good one - much more resource intensive for what is happening in that app which gets heavy into usage of the on-board GPU & CPU performance, minimum OS requirements, etc etc etc.
I'm glad you've found your home. You really should have went Apple from the get go. You'll be a regular at the genius bar Edit: I'm also open to trying any brands/devices but I'll easily rule out a company if I don't agree with their business practices. My problem with Apple isn't the devices (MacBook pro was easily one of the nicest laptops I've owned). It's the way they do business. Same reason I won't consider a Tesla. I don't like that whole 'its us or nothing' way of doing business.
Yeah I'm sure balancing that gets tricky. Memory is probably a huge factor in those apps as well. Manipulating images can get real expensive, real quickly on a phone when it comes to memory usage. I'm sure you're well aware though.
I wouldn't say most but the flagships mostly do. Remember that like 80% of the world is running Android based devices and a huge amount of those devices are really low end.
Do you guys use your phones for more than talking, texting, music and taking pictures of your junk n things?
I do have 3 older Android phones I've now dedicated to exclusive use as baby monitors. They run the CuboAI app 24/7/365 in various rooms My Pixel 6 is already pissing me off, my older devices worked with less glitches
Really? What kind of glitches? I've had ZERO issues with mine other than that vibration thing after the update.
1. When I make or get a Teams call it flashes like it's having a seizure 2. Volume/Speaker is low overall and control is flaky using hardware button 3. Find I have to restart apps quite a bit as they freeze up ...thats a few things
I have had a google phone of some generation since the nexus 4? I never get it right away and there was one time, I had to get a Samsung once and I wasn't a fan, I have a Pixel 4a and I find it small in size but that's just my preference. The only complaint I have is that it's too "new" to run my medical software, they only support Android 10.0.0-11.0 and that's not the Google's problem. I mean who wants to keep their phone up to date, just turn that shit off The medical company's tech's are all Apple fan bois and have tech out the ass for new Apple products but nothing works across the Android brand. But Android being android there is a stand alone product available that is a clone of the original and allows users to have complete control over the setup of the install process of the program. I understand Android is a huge market compaired to the small apple line of phones
I have teams on my work phone. Candy definitely attest to it being a mess. But I've never had any issues with my pixel. Love it.
Its functionality on desktop is iffy at best.. and my company has the functionality disabled for mobile. Which in my opinion is most of what would make it useful in the fucking first place...
We use it quite a bit on our surface pros at work. No issues there. But on my work phone? It's garbage.
'oh I have a teams message... Tap on the notification only to be greeted by a blank teams page and infinite loading status' every single time for years now. Like do they even use it themselves? Lol
Well what do expect from a small company like Microsoft...probably very little funds to put into it...
Microsoft being in Seattle, I work with a lot of ex-Microsoft employees. One of the guys on my team, his wife is an Engineering Manager on the Teams product - it's always fun to mention that on a call that he's in and then here everyone giving their latest list of grievances to him to pass on to his wife. When the pandemic started and the schools all moved to school from home, Microsoft did step up here and roll out and support Teams for our local school boards and it did get better. Recent releases seem to be shit, though.
Some takeout Vietnamese. I’m in San Francisco for work and the crazy thing for me is that I witnessed an assault walking to pick up the food. Some guy dressed up like the Jan 6 Qanon guy refused to let a woman walking in front of me keep going down the sidewalk and then jumped right next to her and grabbed her ass. Completely bizarre. And then disappeared down the sidewalk. No one reacted fast enough to go after him. Heading to Vegas later today. I’m sure I’ll see more stupid stuff for the next few days non-stop.
