Yeah. I managed to get it somewhat ok but the external mic port left much to be desired. Good audio would have involved an external mic and mixing it in post. Wasn't interested in going that far.
I bought myself Chris Brothers & Brothers pepperoni (about $40 worth), 4x2L of Big8 Lime, and a two-four of Olands and one of Schooner, hit the road and smuggled it all into Quebec. Merry Christmas to me!
Oh, and stuffed my face with a couple donairs while I was in town. Worth the trip right there.
Donairs still on the todo list here, along with lobster.
I have been in Alberta for 7 years. Can get brothers/Chris brothers pepperoni here but I haven't had an olands or schooner in 7 years. Man do I miss those.
King of donair opened some locations in Alberta a couple years ago. Thank God for that. Ive been forced to do my best to replicate the recipe. Does the trick but no where near as good!
I was in Ontario this summer and ordered a 'donair' in Kemptville. It barely registered as a beef shawarma. There was much sadness, but it honestly was to be expected.
15-20 years ago, the guy who started KOD opened a donair shop in Kingston. It was the only decent one - others I’ve heard about have always been sub par.
I wasn't impressed with the taste of the donairs in Kingston. I've tried the two popular spots: they garnish them like a shish taouk by default, right down to the pickled turnips (of course you can have them with onions and tomatoes only). I'm pointing that out because it shows the pallete it is designed for. They're "ok".
I did like the donairs in Ottawa, but the prices are absolutely horrible (I'm looking at you Centertown): I had to order two "large" to get a regular out east.
I had a Bellybuster's in Sydney last week. It's as large as a Robert's donair, but tastes 100x better. And the price was absolutely worth it.
Green Fee with a couple buddies at Indian Lake today........Love some December golf, ankle is feeling it a bit after walking the course though
I wish Chris brothers would start selling their pepperoni over here, man I miss that I can get donairs here and Beer is beer.
A few Xmas gifts but in general I haven't bought anything outside groceries and gas for a couple months.
I do need to buy a webcam though, thinking of doing a YouTube channel on tech instructional and how-to for fun...take me out of my comfort zone a little.
Brothers > Chris Brothers
any > none
lol any pepporoni is better than no pepporoni? how hard up are you?
Pepperoni ain't the same out here man. It just ain't the same.....
Spend some time outside of the Maritimes, you'll find out. I've been out since 2006, I know what I miss and what I don't and what's available in my area and what isn't.
you think you guys have a tough food situation....
Unlimited seal blubber tho
Fish. Lots of salted fish...
Definitely not tough here, just different.
Smart dimmer switches for bedroom and outdoor recessed lighting
Speed Beez loading block
Probably about to spend more money - discovered a damp spot in the corner of the basement which now realising is likely a crack in the foundation - combined with a downspout that had become disconnected in that corner of the house with record breaking rain over the last couple of months... ugh, not what I was planning for today.
registration for the Bluenose in May
Bissell Carpet and Upholstery cleaning contraption. I'm so excited not to have to drive a half hour to go borrow my mothers.

Hoka Speedgoat trail running shoes. People either love or hate Hoka - I'm curious to try them on.
Air fryer...wasn't sure what to expect...add me to the bandwagon. Awesome little appliance.
I love mine. Chicken wings haven't been better at home ever since I tried them in that glorious little machine.
