Went and looked at a 2018 XC90 RDesign but I just can't convince myself it's worth the payment. So don't know, might just buy some roof racks and a storage box for roof and make the wagon work.
cable plates + wall mounts for tvs in the new place. want to get everything in order before the drywall goes up rather than cut it out after
~$320 worth of steel which really isn't a lot, steel is expensive I may have to start going to the scrap yard.
21" euro R Line wheels for the Touareg. unfortunatley the tires are gonna be more than what i paid for the wheels
I see a lot of XC90’s around here - anyone I know who has one loves them. We had it on our list when we bought the Ascent but just didn’t want to spend that much so we never even took it for a test drive.
I had one very similar when I was in the data business, I guess I still have it but my ass just doesn't see it as much now as it used to. Thank Dog. They are nice in the summer especially working at home on those hot summer afternoons you can strip right down and get the air flowing right through the chair
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone Xs. Trying them out. So far love the hardware, hate the software. I've committed to giving it a month before going back to my Pixel 5. So far all I hear none stop is: "Wait, why is your bubble blue?!" And then it takes me three times as long to respond because the keyboard sucks.
Yup but they still suck. SwiftKeys voice recognition has to go through Microsoft which I've found hit or miss and they all still revert back to Apple's at really odd times.
I've been consuming a lot of physical books this past year, and a series I'm reading is not going to mass paperback, so I'll end up spending $28/book to continue. I noticed there's an ebook option available for $16/book. $200 later, I've broken down and bought a Kindle. Hopefully the Amazon Prime subscription will pay off with some free books I actually want to read.
Anazon Prime free book options are pretty limited and “unlimited” wasn’t worth it, IMO. The winner for kindle - the library. Once you get a good strategy going for your holds and taking the kindle offline if you need to keep a book for a bit longer than the borrowing period, it’s great.
i don’t have anything in the google ecosystem but I have a lot with Alexa and from what I’ve read you dont get full Alexa functionality with the Nest. I don’t need 24/7 recording which the nest does and the higher resolution of the nest would be nice but it’s not like the Ring is 240p. I’ll probably add a spotlight cam to it and a small indoor camera to keep an eye on the dog so everything is all in one app. having a 24/7 recording with nvr for the past 4ish years goes to show me that I don’t need 24/7 recording with nvr lol
Why buy the Kindle when you can have the app on your phone or a tablet if you have one? I got a Fire 7 tablet for about $50 during prime days I believe mainly for reading but still revert back to m phone most of the time.
The ring is complete and utter shit I switched my 2 to google and could not be happier Such a waste of money. When I took the ring off the walls I stomped on them and threw the pieces in the garbage
Where do I start... The ones I had did not work with my fancy door bell, Phone user interface sucks, connection problems, But the main issue was that I would get the phone notification about the same time the person was driving out of the driveway. They suck Google on the other hand is tits
IMO, the Kindle Paperwhite is the pinnacle of the e-reading experience. Tablets and phones suffer from "reading on a backlit screen" which is not only harder on the eyes but proven to be a bad thing to be doing before you go to bed. The technology of the Paperwhite makes it look just like paper. It is backlit but in such a way as to not have the same effect as a phone/tablet. ie: The Fire tablet is not the experience to compare it to. My daughter won a Fire tablet through her school (for a reading contest) and only really uses it for games - she uses her Paperwhite almost exclusively for reading (our whole family does).
I’m bypassing the doorbell in the house. The dog loses her shit with doorbells so Alexa telling me someone is at the door is fine. I rarely have unexpected guests so I really don’t care if I miss a solicitor or something. I guess we’ll see
If you do not want it to ring the house bell and you do not care if you get notifications of visitors, why not just glue a potatoe to the wall.
