The new M1 chips are screaming fast. Even under emulation, things run fast, but as apps get ported to native, it's crazy. This will replace my wife's 2008 MacBook Pro.

I have no regrets to moving to macbooks. I have a 2013 MB pro that is still chugging along great, Wife has a 2016 or so MB Pro, and we picked up our oldest daughter a MB Air for xmas as she's heading to university in the fall. After multiple times getting her windows based laptops that shit the bed after a year or so and never work well we decided to get her an air and be done messing around with crap lol

I have one of my former engineers MacBook pro here, don't use it, but it seems pretty powerful. I wish I had a use for it...it's in a stack with about 5 other dev laptops at this point. Starting to feel like a hoarder.

I long while back I bought a macbook pro, was very nice and when compared to $1000 windows laptops its FAR superior, I bought a Lenovo Windows PC that was the same price as the equivalent macbook and I very much prefer the Lenovo in all aspects to the macbook.

The M1 chip is a game changer - the architecture is phenomenal and the biggest game changer in processing power we’re going to witness in a long while.

Car service, but I did get a 2019 S60 T6 as a loaner (pic for no added value other than I have one)

Love the new design style, loved the quality, and because it was a super and turbo charged 2.0, it moved very well! But jesus I hate getting into new cars and trying to figure out their touch screen systems on the fly. Everything was in the screen. I would have been safer using my phone because with that at least I know where everything is and I am not fiddling around.

Did some shopping around for an XC90 R-Design while I was there. Jann finds the V60 too cramped in the front seat with the car seat in back.

Got my wood cutting permit for 2021.
Picked up this little timber trailer for the sxs. I was looking for a walking beam trailer but they ended up being a bit too big for what i need.

Ordered some socks through Amazon. Package arrived from Costco today which confused my wife and I as neither of us had ordered anything through Costco. Turned out my sock order was fulfilled by Costco. That’s a new one.

I spent $80 for a USB-C car charger so I can charge my laptop from a 12v solar setup and save less than $2/year in electricity.

I have a dell Xps and the USBc only is the bane of my existence

and the lack of USB C in my vehicle for charging my phone with the actual Apple cable is also the bane of my existence

New compressor, needed more capacity in the shop and my old one will come in the house for projects in here.
Like surprise wake ups at 3am from forgetting to unplug the thing after you are done using it.
The Wife LOVES those it's almost worth buying a compressor if you have never experienced it, just saying. :lol4:

a second megaboom 3 BT speaker, which i'm returning. They don't work as well paired up as i thought it would. Fine if you're in the same room. I think we're making the move to Sonos everything here shortly. just put up our wired home theatre for sale tonight and will replace that with the Sonos Arc sound bar

Almost went Sonos as well - excellent setup. One of my neighbors works for Sonos and said he could get me a discount but neighbors haven't gotten together in a year so I haven't talked to him.
