Maybe that explains Scotia refusing to make a deal. They could have done something for me on the installation/roadhazard though. I feel like whoever I was talking to was just being pissy :/
Road hazard is tough, they replace your tire and they’ve now lost money on your sale with such thin margins I deal with a similar scenario but different product and recently turned away $150k in business revenue because any returns at all means I’ve lost money to sell to this customer and I’d rather not get booted out of my office with swiftness lol
Yeah, it's definitely more of a gamble for them. If they knew how I take care of my car, they'd quickly realize they'd be extremely unlikely to have to replace a tire though lol
LOL. This guy unless it’s time to buy a new set. I’m picking up the new vehicle tonight and the type of tires on it are the last thing on my mind!
I've bought all my tires from scotia since I got my first car in 1995. ive never asked for a deal, always get one and the level of serve I get from them is far beyond what I'd save by buying elsewhere. I could call on the first snowstorm of the year and they get me in the next day if I don't ask, the same day if I do. They are on my shortlist of local companies where I never even bother to price check them. That said, the day all their old staff leave, I'm sure things will change. Once the original owner sold, things definitely changed.
NTR (not tire related): Today: Tank of gas - $42usd Can of Bubly - $1.69usd Two nights reservation in St Andrews for our anniversary - $476
They've always been my go as well. I think that's part of the reason I'm put off that they wouldn't work a deal with me. I've spent thousands of dollars there in the last few years alone
I might take it back after I discovered you can’t change the outside temperature readout from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
ford will do it in the next gen sync, I was really hoping they snuck it into the 2020 model year but no such luck
My old chainsaw died. That saw lived a long life. Was my old man's for years before he passed and he passed almost 18 years ago. So I picked up a new one.
It works exactly the same and Android Auto. Wireless connections are becoming more available on aftermarket head units but the majority of OEM units require a hard connection.
Weird. You'd think they'd support wireless from the get go. All my cars are too old to have any kind of auto app support so I have no experience with them lol
2 out of our 3 have car play and we dont use it the only time i think its worth while is for nav but as long as theres bluetooth streaming and i can answer my phone, i dont care.
I never really needed Nav much in Halifax. I need it all the time in Seattle as soon as I leave my neighborhood so I see that as being huge. There is built in Nav but already we’ve seen it doesn’t update with construction, etc where google does. I use Spotify almost exclusively for audio these days - having a big screen for that (and Overcast for podcasts) is great.
Latest purchase: lobster dinner. One of the local restaurants did a “lobster pop up”. It was from Maine, not NS, but still tasty!
Neither car play or Android Auto initially had wireless options. When Android and Apple made it possible, that's when manufacturers started making their head units compatible.
It will be a significant change for me when I get a newer vehicle, probably in a couple years. Infotainment doesn't exist, cruise doesn't exist. Hell my bluetooth only has one way audio now, haven't been able to figure out why. The SYNC on Ford is okay, only have experience with the 2016/2017 units though. Tells me about email/SMS and I can connect Spotify.. good enough for now, until I see things I never knew I needed.
Android Auto and Apple Car Play need to have in car WiFi to operate wirelessly, not enough bandwidth over Bluetooth to work smoothly
That was my assumption. New car does have in-car WiFi but I haven’t connected it. Maybe I’ll try that out, see if it works. I had assumed if I turned it on and I don’t have the WiFi connected to the internet, I wouldn’t get most of the apps working I want. Kind of annoying that you have to purchase internet packages through the car company - I have a spare SIM for the family cell plan we’re on with unlimited data - would be nice to plop that into the car.
I'd bet that if it's not possible out of the box, someone on the interweb has a hack out so you can use your own card.
I made my decision on the pressure washer Plus a good quality hose and quick connect fitting kit for it
