The RX8 has a small warning chime/ding that sounds when he approaches close to redline. Instead of a shift light, it's a shift chime

Yeah, it makes as much power when I'm stationary on a dyno and the computer is freaking out... Officially, my car makes 237hp @8600rpm. But, once somebody figures out a way to get the pre-EPA emissions crackdown map back into the computer, it will be 250hp+ (a couple guys on the RX-8 forum are close.) Th other thing is the torque... my torque peack is about the same as an S2000 (159lb-ft for me) but since it's a rotary it has a torque platue, not a curve. Damn thing is almost flat from 2000rpm to redline... And to get into a TRUE ricer-battle here... specific output. Me 1.3L = 237hp

Yeah, I admit I do have high hopes for the ECU re-tune, but it's looking promising. One guy in the RX-8 forum has gained 17hp at the wheels across the board (not just peak) playing around with the fuel maps. .. and I thought above when I said 237hp@8600rpm I was anwering where the peak numbers were... Which is good, becuase I wasn't thinking right and got the numbers wrong. 238hp @ 8500rpm 159ftlb@ 5500rpm

With who driving? Running on slicks in PEI, weren't you putting down times that are roughly equivalent to what guys in the states are getting from an SiR w/intake? (low 15s/high 14s?)
I never claimed to be a crazy driver and I had launch trouble in PEI, still ran a full second faster. Boots has an SIR w/ intake and couldnt break the 16's, so what are you getting at Dave? Even Joe had a few runs and I consider him a really good driver. 15.8 I believe.. I dont care what "guys in the states" are running . cause well, we arent in the states. All I asked ws what peak #'s were, not once or nowhere did Isay I was faster the an RX-8, just that the #'s were close. So both of you can chill the fuck out
