To answer your question, download mIRC from www.mirc.com

    Go to www.packetnews.com or www.ircspy.com

Click on the pack (file) # you want, your mIRC will automatically open. When the new window pops up and connects hit ctrl-v to paste the location of the file, hit enter, then click accept.

Maybe you need to forward some ports?

all i know is it wont start a packet for some reason related with DCC.. and i already said for it to accept... but nothings comin up like it used to before... could it be because of the firewall my router has?

find out what ports the program uses, then go into your router settings and forward those ports.

Mac's are nice if you can afford them. OSX is great, it's actually a nice, user friendly Unix OS, and anything that the average person can use that's not windows is ok in my book. There's something fundimentally flawed with the world when everyone accepts the fact that you can get viruses by simply viewing e-mail or a website like it's normal.

The sickest part is that Microsoft, since they have a monopoly, doesn't really give a shit. It's not like internet exploiter and Outlook are new, they've had TEN YEARS to develope those two products. And it's not like it's impossible to be secure, everyone else seems to be able to do it, why can't the worlds richest software company do it? Windows XP professional retails for $280, Office Professional retails for $649, I can't believe people pay that and aren't outraged when they visit a website and get infected with 50 spyware programs or open their mail and get 20 different viruses.
    [/rant]

There are alternatives out there. You can switch to a nice desktop oriented linux like xandros or ubuntu. If you want to stay on windows you can use Firefox to replace IE, Thunderbird to replace outlook and open office to replace M$ office. AbiWord is also a great little word processor for the people that don't need all the Open Office features. Also, it's not open source but Avast antivirus is free to download and works quite well. It's also more stable and less of a system hog than Nortons.
