I'm projecting that he's going to do quite well. With a team like McLaren behind him, I see good things coming.
It wasn't the BMW end of the deal holding them back. The Williams chassis has been a piece of shit for a few years now. And really, when you think about it, they probably wouldn't have won if Ferrari was still trying to clintch the title and brought their 'A' game But Its good for JPM to get a win, he's a cocky fucker though and this will only make him moreso, but I like his style.
Very true, however I think once he gets a few wins under his belt in a descent car with a descent team hopefully next season, he'll become even more win-hungry. People always rag on shumi because he's cocky and dirty, look where he's at because of it. Sometimes an attitude like that is needed in F1 to succeed, not in all cases but it does play a role.
I think Kimi and Montoya are going to be killer if the new car is ok, that is the outright fastest combo of drivers.
My old man was telling me that BMW's motor's have the highest power of all the F1 powerplants. Anyone know if this is true?
That was the rumor last season, also the highest RPM, but the only people that know for sure are the engineers who work for the teams.
Who cares, they aren't at the front of the pack and that's all that matters in F1 at the end of the day. :fingerda:
The BMW motor wasa rumored to have the highest output, now it seems that Honda is the flavor of the month, with rumors of 980hp at Suzuka with a special spec engine for that race.
Well, we all know BMW has the best engineers so it wouldn't surprise me if they made more power within the confines of F1 rules than anyone else. Remember, making more power isn't cheating!
I would say that Ferrari have the best of nearly everything, including budget. Williams dropped the ball the last several years, as did Mclaren. BAR have gone from zero to hero in one year, expect bigger things from them next year I think, Honda does not get into stuff to be 2nd best, ever. Once they started integrating themselves with more chassis development they really started to show progress I expect this to continue. Teams to watch next year, Mclaren and BAR.
Winning and losing races, prove which teams have the best and worst engineers. Sure Ferrari has the bigger budget with their F1 program then any other team has, however they are able to afford the better engineer staff, compared to BMW who have a whopping one single win of the season. PS: I can't wait to see BAR come out in full effect next season. 8)
Until Michael retires, its a solid one horse race. Forget about Honda, forget about Mclaren, BMW etc etc. Ferrari's 05 car was in the bag months ago, time to go testing. BTW, I think the drama around F1 is the only reason there is any excitement left in the whole deal, because there sure isn't any on the track. The whole show is nothing more than a circus, minus the dancing elephants...
True, its kinda like a big soap opera. I am, and have been for a loong time, hooked on it like crazy.
Should be interesting to see who is good next year with the rules changes. I think one of the new proposed or in fact now a rule is that all teams are allowed one set of tires for the entire race. Only pit stops will be for fuel. I hate the ways they try to slow the cars down. Also i believe all engines need to be 8 cylinders, down from the the current 10. What a shame.
No it doesn't prove who has the best engineers, it proves who throws the most money at it. F1 has become a spectacle and winning races is based on what you pay to win them these days. Maybe 10 years ago the better engineers would have prevailed, but in this day and age an engineer can only do so much with his budget and when someone else has a higher budget they are going to win. P.S. Bernie Ecclestone is a huge assgoblin.
