i am going to do a swap as soon as i can...i just don't know what i really want...price is an issue!!!

i am torn between a b16 and a b18b....i like the b16 for the hp #'s and vtec...but i like the fact that the b18 has decent torque. the swap will be going in a 94 hatch.i would like some opinions from the car guys and gals.i don't want to drop the coin and end up being disappointed in my decision.any info would be cool. thanks peeps.

ls/VTEC.... You get the best of both worlds..... torque and hp.

put one in the back and make it AWD

seriously though - its your car - do the research and do what you want to do b18 is alot cheaper than a b16 so if price is an issue - well there is your answer

The B18B can be a good choice for an EG and they can usually be had pretty cheaply since there's lots of folks swapping them out of Integras. And its about as simple a swap as you can possibly do. Whenever I blow my D16 sky high its likely what I'll look at for a replacement. I'm not after massive straight line speed though. (Hey, its a Honda. :) )

Swaps swaps swaps, fuck me i hate this shit.

And everyone wonders why honda's are stolen so much.......

Personally if your unhappy with the power then save your "swap " money and sell your car and buy something with more power, in the end you will save money.

Plus, engine swaps will KILL your resale. I'm with stu on this one...just go get an SRT4 or something!

its not about resale here......its about have a light weight car with a bigger motor, so u can go faster, like i dont give 2 sweet fucks about resale, but i know if i put a gsr in my car i will want a bit more for it when i decide to sell it...i dont understand why it would make ur car worth less....?

Well.. thats easy to say but if you read what he wrote that comment isn't very helpful. He's looking to be as cost efficient as possible thus why he's looking at a $2500 dollar swap, instead of a $29000.00 dollar new car purchase...

not really back on track in my mind. Sure i understand why you may want to make your car faster, but really why do you need something like a gsr engine (which good luck buying one and swaping for 2500)

Also you don't need to go spend 20000 dollars, shit your car plus 2500 could get you a better platform to mod off.

My opinion still stands. swaps in my mind promote stealing, and really i just don't think too many people in the future will want a car that has had a swap, maybe not right now, but as months and years go on they will

According to the police they may start doing underhood checks, looking for serial numbers etc. Yeah i can hear the arguement now, they can't do that, well check the law, they can.

are you kidding me a better car to mod off of then a civic? what are you smoking?? the whole tuner market is directed towards civics.. the mod possibilities are endless

as for cops checking under the hood... if your engine isnt stolen.. and you get it from a junkyard or dealer .. and have a receipt then what the fuck do you hae to worry about.. you post is pointless if you have nothing nice to say than dont comment.. which is why i will end my post right............ NOW

Coming from a B16A driver, I'd highly reccomend this motor. VTEC owns me :D

Stu, Motor swaps don't promote stealing unless your buying hot motors.

i think he was referring to the fact that a lot of cars are stolen and stripped for parts, eg motor swaps

Right, and the only crowd that fuels theft of these types of cars are the butt fucks that buy the hot shit. The every day joe that wants to have their motor swapped doesn't fuel any of the theft economy period.

They bascially smashed the rear suspension, and well i fought with the insurance company over the possible hidden damage, but they are fixing it.

    Selling the car regardless.

I'm not trying to be a dick when I say this. But anyone with a modded car that has been stolen its probably a 85% chance to say its LowMotions fault. That place was a shopping ground for awhile!

yeah so very true guys, even the cops know that.

THe whole point is, to steal this car was a bit on the stupid side as my car has more rare parts then i can count. Bear in mind that most likely the car was going to be chopped and shipped out of here.

I just want to thank the police for try and getting the asreshole.

I will post up a new topic so we don't hi jack this one anymore.............

ahhh whatever dude...hijack all you want, i don't really care...sorry to hear about your car....i had seen that car around town, pretty sweet!!!

i know a guy who had his hummer h2 stolen in montreal back in july/august....he was there on vacation!! they found it a few weeks ago at the port in halifax :o , still had the dudes hockey gear in the back :o ....i think they found a ferrari and a few other high end autos aswell, to go across the pond....it's pretty ironic that the hummer came back to where it was originally from . and the fact that they found it!!!
