I have accepted a job with Eastlink troubleshooting the phone systems on a big federal government cut over.

its a 6 month contract but I am hoping to use my time there to network and hopefully get on permanent, ideally in a more IT based role.

looking forward to the experience and learning new things.

pretty pumped I don't have down time as well.....finish one contract on Saturday, start my next on Monday. cant go wrong.

You will be working with a bunch of people I know. Most are good. Don't get swayed by the few Punch Clock Johnies that think they are unionized municipal workers. Its contageous.
You can also now enjoy the nearness of Tareks.

Congrats dude. Even if it's only a contract, take notes of little duties you have for updating your resume. Take down contact info for people you come across - never hurts to have too many contacts.

From what I hear, Eastlinks a good spot to be, so good job, and good luck my man. Steelers still suck balls

If you're in the IT department, don't you have access to everything? I think you'll still have RC during the day.

Bitch..I've been here for over a month..and no lunch dates yet!

    And congrats!

I do believe you are actually sitting next to me. lol. They just cleared out 3 people from Bus outside sales and moved them down a ways to make room for 3 new guys. :) Believe your name was mentioned!

I knew they were hiring at least 5 more..but I didn't know you guys were on contract. :( That sucks! But the opportunities are there, for sure! I can show ya some people to chat with in IT that can help you out! I've been here for a little over a month and I'm getting further in with Marketing weekly!!

Business sales has Outside Sales, Inside Sales and the Federal Gov't crew on the same floor. IT is on another floor but one of the Bus. Outside sales guys works closely with IT and he is on this floor as well.
