I agree. As much as a princess as he was, the Sens thought the were "higher and mightier" without him.

I could see them lose Spezza and I'd be happy.

I think they should trade Daniel Allfredson to MTL for Jaroslav Halak.

I just watched the Murray press conference.. I have to say I agree with pretty much everything he's said. I haven't really like Hartsburg since they brought him in.

I will say that Murray should be gone as well, but I think we'll see that at the end of the season..

Yep, I kind of liked Murray at first, but he was with the team for a while and then bailed when better opportunities arose.

I think Goodie is right, They should not have given up Emery. Sure he turned all rock star and such, but give him some space and let him mature. They have let Spezza mature for as much time. ..... I think Spezza is a wannabe showboat and he shouldn't be. ..... Let Spezza mature somewhere else.

They need to trade Spezza, Alfredson, and Heatley...

Heatley and Spezza are so inconsistent, and Alf is getting old.

emery wasn't a distraction, having 4 coaches in a short amount of time is a distraction.

    fuck Murray. hes a mutt

Martin, for once I agree with you. When the only thing that hasn't changed in the equation is Brian Murray, perhaps he should step down.

    Emery was the man
    they've had good coaches
now their goalies suck ass, coaches have no power as they never last the year
and stars are treated like gods and no matter what its never on their head

Well I mean it's just sad when a team goes from first to worst. I mean they are in 28th spot in the league. They have potential but you can't keep giving the team a new coach and hope it will work out. because it won't.

Murray should be gone and a goalie needs to come in the system.

More than a goalie, they need a top-tier D-man.. they have a couple in the system that will be that guy in a few years (if it works out), but they don't have anyone right now who is stepping up. Redden fell apart so getting rid of him was the right move (look how he's tearing things up in New York).

Getting rid of Heatley, Spezza, and Alfredsson is ridiculous. They are 3 of the best players in the league, but aren't getting support anywhere else on the team. Other teams can pretty much spend 98% of their effort shutting them down and ignore the rest of the team.

I don't know what Hartsburg was doing this year, but guys like Fisher, Vermette, and Kelly, who should be providing that secondary scoring, weren't responding.

Than again, who knows what makes things click.. on paper, Pittsburgh should be leading the East right now and they're stinking just as bad.

I wish Emery was still there. If they still had Emery & Corvo, then worked around with some more Defense they would be fine. Also ditching Murray would help.

I also agree with ditching Healtey, Spezza & Alfredsson would be stupid. Those are the players you want to build a team around. They need someone that can control the puck on D that can move the puck up to them.

Mike Fisher makes 6 million this year and has 18 points
Chris Kelly makes 2.5 million this year and has 14 points
Antoine Vermette makes 2.75 million this year and has 18 points

50 points so far this season = 11.25 million

    Brian Murray should be fired

    Gerber = 3.7 million...

Look at Vermette, Fisher, and Kelly's stats from last year under different coaches - Murray didn't bring them in, but signed them to stay under the assumption they'd continue or exceed and then they all shit the bed..... under Hartsburg.

Don't get me wrong, Murray is a sore spot, but you can't point at those three and blame Murray.. other than the contract he gave Fisher, which was too much. (At the same time, Fisher is a fan favorite in Ottawa, so Murray would have been roasted at the stake if he didn't re-sign him..)

So, the Sens are now on a 3 game winning streak for the first time this season. (It could really be a 4 game streak, but they lost a heartbreaker in the shootout to Boston in the game before that..)

The games are exciting to watch now - the forecheck pressure the team is putting together is awesome, especially from lines like Fisher/Foligno/Vermette.

I don't think they have enough time to turn this into a playoff berth run, but I'm definitely turning into a Clouston fan.

The only similarity between the Leafs and the Sens is that they're both in Ontario.

Leafs are a pile of stink.

    The Sens will rise again.
