Saturday, January 17, 2009 GO #09-7874 - <b>At 11:19 a.m. this morning a 29- year-old man entered the Scotia Bank, 1658 Bedford Highway, jumped over the counter and attempted to take money from the cash drawers. After being told to leave, he fled to the parking lot where he attempted to force a male out of vehicle. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled into the wooded area behind the mall. Patrol members with the assistance of K9 conducted a 2 hour track, eventually coming out in the area of Smith's Road, Bedford. There, officers learned that the suspect had taken a taxi to an address in the 300 block of Lucasville Road. Police attended the address and located the suspect inside the residence. He was arrested without incident and is currently being held on charges of attempted theft in relation to the incident at the Scotia Bank, attempted robbery relative to the vehicle and break and enter.
