Will CTV or anyone be covering the results?

As far as I can tell, none of the TV networks are covering the results live.

CBC's supper-hour news is at 7pm, just as polls close. Both Global and CTV have late local news tonight. Global at 11pm and CTV at 11:30pm. They'll have whatever results are available.

I think I'll check out both webcasts and watch whichever is better.

It seems Global might have some coverage:

...and some good news from Global's Natasha Pace:

Any reason why local news wouldn't cover results besides online?

Too busy airing reruns of Big Bang Theory, I guess.

IIRC in '08 CBC teamed up with Eastlink to give us some coverage on Channel 10.

I don't know why the local channels don't cover it, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's because municipal elections here in Halifax aren't a priority for someone, say, in Lunenburg County. Hard to cover everything province wide. Everyone not in HRM would change the channel.

Pretty pathetic there isn't any live TV coverage.

It is. I was half watching (background noise) CBC Newsworld this afternoon and they mentioned "municipal elections in the East" so I looked up.... East, as in MIDDLE EAST.. More attention paid to their municipal elections than ours.

I'm guessing the HRMVotes webcast will be half decent. It should beat huddling around a radio.

Apparently electing new mayors will bring out the vote!

Metro: Two polls in for mayor and Mike Savage has commanding lead.

CBC: Savage takes the lead for HRM mayor with 2314 votes. Martin in second with 921.

Third poll has Martin closing the gap.

Edit: Looking less likely to be close. It's still early but last I heard Savage was up by 10k votes. Jordi Morgan sounded just about ready to call it.

I'd be happy with Gerry or Waye. Time for a change though, for sure.

TDF just had a big soapbox to stand on. I'm not surprised he got a handful of votes.

Mason says he's won District 7 "by about 98 votes."
