Can I plug my MPowered modem into any phone jack around the house and it will work?

My wireless is slow so I want to move the modem and router into my room and then make the other computer wireless.

If you have a self installed internet connection you can move it anywhere. If an aliant tech installed it, you gotta have them come wire you a new jack.

if the speed doesn't improve on the other jack, best thing to do is contact tech to have them do a line test, might help locate the cause of the problem :)

Step one, remove router, try again.. Youd be amazed how many speed issues are caused by those things.. Especially since your splitting a connection.

Why is it that when the board is full of Aliant internet techs past and present that other people try to answer these questions?

Especially those senior support fawkers who sit around and do nothing all day and complain they need more money then the front line agents.

When I had aliant they had a tech come in and install it,that was however about 3 years ago. I swapped my internet around to another room back then.
