Okey, so I'm cleaning out my computer to make some room on it..... and I come across my "history" file, it says it has 3.4 MB in it, with 8 files and 5 folders, but I just cleaned it out, and I dont see any files or folders. How the hell do I clean this little whore out?
If the folder properties says there are files but if you look in the folder and don't see anything. That means the files are hidden and should be left as is. Your computer will maintain those files as it needs. Sorry, the info is a little late. Working the backshift tonight.
no virus i am aware of shows your ie history folder bigger than it is. There is probably hidden files, like was said earlier....if you wanna check, go to view, folder options, view hidden folders....but don't delete them, or there will be more trouble then its worth.
Couldn't she lower the size of that file by reducing the amount of days that IE keeps things. For example in IE (5.0 in my case): Tools>Internet Options>General (tab)>"days to keep pages in history" reduce from default "20" to a smaller number or "0". Then hit "clear history" She could delete the temporary Internet files.... Would that make the file size smaller?
