I've always had problems with my jaw clicking and sometimes getting stuck out of place, making my jaw totally out of alignment, making me talk with a lisp and smiling crooked... TOTALLY uncool! I normally fix that by eating a chewy candy, and getting it to pop back into place. Anywho, my most recent issue is that for the past 4 days, one side of my jaw is totally tense. It hurts on that side of my jaw to open my mouth, and chew. I can open my mouth about an inch before it really starts hurting. I just had a hell of a time trying to eat a meatball, and had to cut it into child size pieces.. grr Had anyone experienced this, and have any suggestions for releif untill I can go in to see my doctor/dentist? It will be at least 2 weeks before I can get any appointments
my jaw did that the other week!! i have to wear a bite plate..apparently i grind my teeth from stress?
I have a bite plate from 8 years ago I could attempt to wear, but I think my teeth have moved a bit because last time I had it in, it lasted maybe an hour before I woke up with it on my pillow... Its weird because its only ONE side of my jaw, the other is completely fine.
Ya, thats what I've been told in the past.. but then the last time I was at the dentist, the hygenist told me that I have 'elasto-something' meaning that my joints are just more flexible and cause the jaw to go out of place... Who knows, I just know that if this doesn't get better soon, I'm going to go crazy!!! How am I supposed to eat some juicy steak with my jaw all fuckered
try wearing your bite plate during the day..ease yourself into wearing it i had to do that with my retainers haha they would always end up on my pillow
first blow job joke after 8 posts?? I was expecting it much sooner then that.. RC, you are letting me down!
i had problems with my jaw growing up, to the point that about 5 years ago i had jaw surgery, where they break your jaw and wire it shut for a few weeks.....and let me tell you, it was the best thing i ever did.
My dentist mentioned this a while ago.. I can't imagine being wired shut for a few weeks... I love food too much!
Janet, the first thing to do is immediately stop seeing Goodie. This will not help with the jaw thing, but you should still do it. If it does help though, just remember I told ya so. Next is stop eating chewy candy and gum until you get it checked out. Also chewy foods, and taking bites where you have to open your mouth wide. You can also try a hot face cloth on you jaw just below your ear. A dentist should be able to diagnose this relatively easy. Don't be like me and wait until you get to work one day, yawn, and then not be able to close your mouth, and have to drive 30 mins to the doctor with your mouth open the entire drive.
Greg likes everyone...he just got lucky and found someone that likes him back... ps...I think yur perdy
I used a splint at night for awhile (I'm a massive grinder/clencher)... also, just being aware of my clenching and relaxing when I find myself doing it, massaging my jaw, putting heat on it, etc, seems to help a lot.
