... Hard to get a good pic on the exhaust port work. They are not quite done yet, just a bit more shaping.
nope It was not done off a flow bench. Good straight forward street work. If you look at the picture thats shows the short turn radius on the intakes where they cut the cylinder head for the intake seat, they have left a lot of material. You might see some casting flashing about half way up the intake port walls as well as the exhaust ports if it where not for the carbon build up. All this stuff is blended as well as the bowls and guide/roof areas. If I was doing something other than a street job like a high boost or high output N/A motor I would be on the bench down there. More than likey with these setups your playing with shape, volume and crossectional area to get the flow numbers where you need them. Bench time is quite expensive and applications like these make for cost effective bench time. I am having Allyn press out the guides in my head and I going to be doing my porting with the guides out for the B20/VTEC motor. I will be logging some hrs on the bench. I have stock B16A flow bench numbers I may plot both sets of numbers. The stock base line with one of my set's of numbers. Good question thought! appreciate. Hows your project coming along?
Great work Bruce, it looks great. How do you feel about doing a set of V6 heads? I need to get mine done next winter and your looking like you could do the job.
Re: nope Cool.... Sounds like your putting alot of time in. Its been too cold lately and im waiting for dry roads before I take my car out. Its completed, except for the intercooler piping. Im also building a custom exhaust right now, that should be done this week sometime, then its off to the paint shop.
