    From today's Chronicle Herald:

    Firefighters looking for new members

Anyone interested in becoming a firefighter is invited to an information session being held by Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency this Thursday night. As part of a general recruit drive, the service is holding a gathering at the Halifax Forum multi-purpose centre on Young Street at 7 p.m.

More information is available at the service’s website www.halifax.ca/fire.

Is it going to be open to everyone this time, or only the minorities again?

Then he would have been hired regardless, since he was right for the job. Why the need to hire based on skin colour?

My point exactly, how can they expect people to put their life on the line day in and day out and pay them crap wages. Same with the Police and Armed Forces.
