GM Ecotec first to hit the 7's in a pro FWD

    That's an incredible little motor. Very similar in design to Nissan's SR20, only open deck instead of closed. :)

    i'm usually not a fan of GM shit, but they seem to have got something going on there with the ecotec. i'd like to see a factory turbo sport compact or something along those lines from them.

    You and me both. They are stuck on the whole supercharger thing for some reason. The new Cobalt SS (the replacement for the cavalier) has the optional 2.0l ecotec with an M62 supercharger putting out 205hp

    Actually the Saab 9-3 has a version of the ecotec in it (2.0 from 2.2), with the upper end model coming with a turbo.

    Oh yeah I forgot about that one. It is a great engine all around thats for sure. Just wish that GM would start putting more of their accomplishments at the track into their production cars.

    What's awesome about FWD drag racing is that there are women setting records in the cars that seem 'unlikely' to do so. That's fuckin' rad.
