    Im replacing my gas tank tommorow due to its leakage..
    Anyone here have experence taking one out and replacing them?

    If so:

    Whats the most common problems?
    What parts usually break in the process?
    Hints or tips..

    i've only done it once, nothing broke, had to replace an in tank fuel pump.....biggest problem was it had to go up before it could come down, but there wasnt much up for it to go, went back on easy though...just up and back....

    Yeah your right, took the mig to it today. Holy fuck you should write a book filled with all your helpful tips! Shafft can be your co-author. . .

    It went fairly smooth, the only problems were getting the 6 bolts out of the cover for the fuel pump, 3 of them were rounded off from the previous owner very annoying to try and work around.

    National rad, gave me a tank from an S14 (1995+) so it was slightly larger and the passanger side strap was a little off but some elbow grease got it in. That was the only problem with putting the tank in the rest was fairly smooth, started up with out any issue.

    It was nervous working on it since i was talking to someone yesterday who said National rad broke all his fuel lines on his 89 trying to get the tank out (apperently $700fix, i think they screwed him), plus the gas vapor isnt a great working enviroment.

    End total = $275 for tank, neck and bay rental at CFB Autoclub, not bad i dont think
