    i just bought an 02 silverado ext. cab 4x4 and this thing seems ridiculous on fuel... what are you folks getting for fuel mileage?

    Probably 12-18 at the most would be normal.

    My friend has an 04 2500HD with the 6.0L gas engine and he's making 5mpg when driving in 4-hi and 12 when it's in 2wd

    My brother got ~18 at the very best with his 4.8 4x4.

    My old 96 5.7L 4x4 got around 20mpg if you watched your takeoffs

    99, 5.7L 4x4 Yukon - 18 mpg @ 100km/h towing a 5000lb trailer. Up to 20mpg without trailer.
