download ad-aware and spybot (you can find these for free on www.cnet.com), these will remove the spyware on your computer that cause most of the pop ups. Also, the google toolbar works great for stopping pop ups.
nawww man get the google toolbar so far i have stopped 164 go to google.ca and download it it's free and super good at stopping popups.
I thought everybody knew about this thing by now. It's great. Makes searching easier, and I'm at 1013 blocked on the machine I'm using right now...
Switch to Firebird.... Java based faster then ie has tabs so only one window is open but multiple pages tons of custom plugins http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/
Well, I know in my case IE is part of the software image, and a lot of the internal sites and e-meetings and such won't work without it.
Been running with it since my first Java course at Dal, then kept running with it working in an office that relied heavily on Java apps, and I'll continue to run with it until someone proves to me that java isn't a big steamy pile of dogshit
W3RD. Java = great for cross-platform interoperability, bad for performance. If your application of choice does not need to operate across platforms (i.e. you don't need to run the same app across Windows, Linux, Solaris etc.) then it loses some of it's appeal.
Best story ever. One of my first programming projects in a Java course at Dal was a simple program that drew shapes. I did it at home on my windows PC using the Java Development kit. It ran fine and did above and beyond what the prof had asked. I get my mark back and it's a 13/30. Turns out my app wouldn't run on the markers unix computer My relationship with java since that day has gone straight downhill. I hate it!
As a gui based app Java does suck because nobody really uses it for that. As for server side performance you can't beat it......
Java is not weak. Ebay uses Java for one I'm fighting a very biased battle so I will stop.....we're both too stubborn
Yeah, I'll argue until death Seriously, I'm only speaking from my personal experience as a devoloper. I have my preferences
The is a web browser called Crazy browser that does not allow any pop ups. Check it out it's a pretty good program. www.crazybrowser.com
