This type of transmission has been out for a while, VW/Audi has been using them in some models since 05/06. I believe that Mitsu has something similar in the latest EVO and the new GTR has a dual clutch tranny as well
yeah but those are expensive/sports cars. Ford is planning to put this in everycar including the Focus. This will force all other manufacturars to setup their games.
I hate to say it but, GO FORD
I wouldn't classify my jetta as an expensive / sports car
It's cool to see someone else doing this, from my experience they're wicked!
I wouldn't classify your car as one that is equipped with DSG, either.
His car is dsg.
Nice, go ford
I anxiously await the "it was a matter of personal opinion" argument.
Yeah - just posting as I think they're the first US automaker to do it. At least for cars for the common people.
Not revolutionary, but worth noting.
*EDIT* - And yes, VW has had one for a couple years now.
Hrm, interesting... we didn't get DSG on 1.8t cars of the old bodystyle, which is what the 2005 GLi was here in the US.
Well, you're going to be waiting quite a while.
Read a bit closer, Daily Driver:2006 Jetta 2.0t DSG
Ohhhhhhhh, I see that now! I only saw the 2005 GLi before.
I'm so ashamed, 1000 lashes!
It's not a punishment if you enjoy it
Oh, well then... for punishment I sentence myself to an hour of American network television tonight!
