I see middle fingers instead of the other images.. Like, anything thats uploaded to r-c is a middle finger...
I'm having the same problem. All I see is those fingers. And yes, it is on this site, not viewwing externally linked images. All the picture posts are just giant fingers. Very annoying.
Nope. Strange thing is, I only see pictures linked from outside. For example, I can see those linked from DigitalPose.com etc, but none from RC. Weird. Does this happen only to a few people or did you have more people reporting this? Thanks.
It happens to a select few. Here's our setup The site is hosted on one server and all the images are hosted on another. The 2nd server has hotlink protection enabled so in order to view pics, you must be on www.reality-check.ca. What browser do you have? What version? No firewall? ZoneAlarm? Something on your PC is making your browser appear "hidden" to the second server so instead of getting the pics, you get our "don't steal bandwidth" picture.
Yup, it's my firewall. I have Norton. When I disable it, pics work. I have configured it to allow your host server to see the previously visited site. So it can determine that I'm browsing from within. That's how your bandwidth protection works, right? Anyway, all is fine now. Thanks.
Nice. Yes, that's how the bandwidth protection works. I'm gonna sticky this thread for the others to see.
Cool. Here is a how-to for Norton Internet Security users. Other firewalls must have a similar setting in some of the config screens. - open Norton Internet Security and go to Norton Internet Security Options. - click on Web content tab - click on Add site - type 207.44.248.30 in the box that pops up and click OK. - On the right-hand you will see Global settings tab. Uncheck the checkbox under Information about visited sites and change the setting to Permit. - click OK Now, you're able to see all the pics on the site. Enjoy!
I'm not behind a firewall and I get the finger too. But if I log out, and log back in, then I can see the pics. But once I close the browser, open it again, and come back to this site, the finger is back.
my firewall was making everything finger me.. I wish I had found this thread before.. I thought someone just really hated me.
I was having the same problemo, but I figured out that when I clicked the "keep me logged in" button or whatever it was called caused this somehow, and everytime I come to R-C now I have the password saved in Windows since no one else uses this computer.
