i recently got a warning from a cop to change my muffler , after 1 full year of having had it on my car with not even so much as a glance at it. would anyone here know where i might find info about the current laws involving exhausts on cars in new brunswick, like size, shape, how loud it can be and such. i don't have what i would consider to be anything even approching a loud exhaust on my car, i know for a fact that a harley motorcycle would drown me out even if we were both sitting at idle. Thanks for any info PS.: happy new year to all and welcome to 2k5
When you bought the muffler there had to be paperwork which showed that it was DOT approved. Throw that in your glovebox and let the officer see it next time you get pulled over. Or put a turbo on your car
have a jdm typeR engine, turbo would be too much work an expense for my wallet and available time, thanks for the info though
finally went to the police station to see if i could get info on what to do about my muffler. i got there, explained the situation, cop came out, had me start the car and rev it a few times. cop said, and i quote "don't worry about it, my truck is louder than that and the guy that gave you the warning was just being an ass" why can't there be more cops like him around
