EMERY LEAVES RUSSIAN CLUB TEAM IN PROTEST

Personally I'd love to see Emery back in the NHL. I would like to see him back in the Sens uniform, but we all know that will not happen. I could see the Leafs picking up a hometown hero though.

He is a decent goalie for sure... just a little flashy

It would be a stellar pickup for the Leafs. They, if anyone, should sign him.

He seems to have more temper tantrums than my 3 year old, but a good goalie nonetheless.

Toskala is a better goalie then Emery although it may not look like it on paper. The leaf's problems dont begin in goal, so they shouldnt be starting to rebuild there

Emery is one of my favorite players he needs to land somewhere in the NHL.

Emery is a good goalie, just like avery is a good player, sadly both players have something in common that makes them not work in this league, or as a team mate.

Avery is not a good player at all, while Emery is an above average goalie he just tends to be very streaky. Avery has everyone hating him... team mates inlcuded. Emery was well liked in the dressing room from what i remember. I don't think you can compare the two.

There were more then a few of Emery's teammates that were fed up with his attitude.

Wrong. Avery has a lot of potential to add some offensive skill to any team. He chooses to act like a douche instead.

I disagree he's a third line forward at best.

I can rhyme off plenty of 3rd liners in the NHL who score 20 goals and have 40+ pts year after year.

Avery is a very skilled player. When he chooses to play hockey, he's valueable.

I don't understand the point your trying to make. Avery doesn't put up 40 points year after year.

You basically called him worthless("not a good player at all"), then said he was a 3rd line player at best.

I'm saying that 3rd liners play a huge roll in a teams success, so do 4th liners for that matter. It's not all about who scores the most goals or makes the most saves. However there are a lot of 3d liners who put up great numbers each season.

Explain to me why last season the Rangers had a winning record with Avery in the lineup and a losing record with him not in the lineup.

I think the guy is a bag of shit, but he's a good hockey player.

3rd & 4th lines are typically your defensive / checking lines. Generally you don't have your "skilled" players on them. I don't think of Avery as a skilled player. Skilled to me is a goal scorer or playmaker. Which you generally find on the top two lines. I am probubly being biased since I can't stand Avery. My opinon is he's not a good hockey player.

I don't follow the Rangers since I can't stand them either, so I can't answer that. Doubt it has anything to do with Avery though.

Well it sounds like you have never seen the guy play, I hate the man, but he is skilled. A skilled hockey player doesn't mean they have to be a 30+ goal scorer. He is primarily an agitating type of player, which usually puts him on the third line, his skill set then is second on the command list. If he wasn't such a knob every team would probably want him.

I haven't seen him play all that much to be honest. Maybe 20 games or so that he's been in. He's a grinding forward that loves to run his mouth. That is not a "Skilled" hockey player.

Avery averages about 30 points a season, while playing between 50-60 games.

Not bad for a worthless 3rd liner
