I guarantee GrifterGrifter had no idea who Legault was before he saw that news article or some meme on social media.

Gotta disagree.. Anyone who even half way follows politics in Canada knows who he is, and even if they didn't, they certainly could assume the Premier of Quebec holds sway with Quebecers or that his endorsement may be meaningful.

Giving into Quebec's ridiculous nation ideas is an interesting approach for the CPC to unite Canada :hsugh:

Yep. Dude even holds a 65% approval rating.... And Quebec counts for almost 1/4 of the seats needed.... But that doesn't matter right??? I'm pretty sure he knew that though before talking shit about me.... He's surely not that arrogant...

Then again...you know, these guys just like to look down on everyone on RC, they are sooo much smarter and better than us...

Not glued to the news. I work a 12 hour shift 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. But, don't know if you noticed... There's an election going on and I like to keep informed on what the party leaders are doing, who's saying what, keep up on the debates... Instead of just blindly voting for Trudeau cause I'm not so ignorant as to see how much hes dividing the country and care about what happens inside AND outside of my own province.

So I check in on my news feeds in my down time... and check the occasional meme on my *shudder* facebook...and share the headlines with my friends and rc.

Legit just sharing news from an accredited source that I thought folks on here may not have seen as it was pretty fresh.

And get some jabs in about liberal/conservative of course!

Interesting to see there's not much difference in spending in the Liberal/Conservative platforms. $24.6B defecit by 2026 for the CPC vs $32B defecit by 2026 for the LPC. The conservatives are actually planning to spend more than the liberals in their first year. They are going to pay reparations to the oil provinces to make up for them not saving any money during the boom times. They should scrap that and keep the liberal national childcare plan. It's pretty obvious that relieving the burden of childcare will be a huge boom to the economy.

But But, Harper, oh nope that was Trudeau in the debate last night.
Stephen Harper is never going to be homeless as long as the liberal party of Canada is around he will be living rent free their little skulls. :bounce:
I said it earlier after Freeland got away with it, it is time for the CPC to start doing it. Fair is fair right?

No scrapping the child care would easily get them a win. Anyone who can’t see the value of the child care plan is just ignorant because the liberals proposed it

They have a whole section in their party plan (AKA the sexy O'Toole photoshoot) where they talk about how important childcare is for the economy. If you told a Canadian family paying for daycare they could choose to pay a $10/day rate or get a tax credit at the end of the year, they are going to take the up front rate all day long.

So rather than put money into the where it will help get the economy going like getting the TMX pipeline and possibly others finally built to tide water and exporting oils and gas. Plus maybe they didn't save any during huge booms because they were sending it all to the East for unrealistic transfer payments.
I am not even going to get started on the childcare because I don't have kids and not an issue for me and my views would cause an argument that I just don't have time for. Some fights I enjoy this one NOPE.... I am rambling again. I know your point of getting both parents working get the economy booming for childcare argument so it's not lost on me, I get it.

Pipelines in 2021 are a terrible investment imo. We already bought Alberta a pipeline and it's been a huuuuuuuuuuuge waste of money.
