She's resigning. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/governor-general-payette-step-down-1.5882675
Umm. Justin mcfancy socks picked her.
Just shows how terrible his judgement is!
(Que the defense of his choices brigade).
Right, but it makes Trudeau look better if she steps down rather than him having to call the Queen to fire her.
She was never properly vetted right from the start and everyone knew it even the liberals
She knew this report was coming, I'm curious as to why she didn't step down sooner.
Yeah, probably gave her the option, step down or fired
They should just abolish the position anyway. Heres a good idea. Take a well educated and successful academic, scientist, engineer, astronaut, ceo etc etc and put them in a farce of a job to go parading around sticking ribbons on elementary school kids. Also stick them with a bunch of life long civil servants who do nothing better than suck dry the gov't teet while doing the least amount of work possible. That's about enough to drive anybody to hurl a few insults at a bunch of lazy paper pushers lol.
She was prob tired of dealing the politics of it anyway.
And she walks away with ~$142,000 a year pension as well as a ~$140,000 expense account for life.
And the Beaverton does it again
I mean i'd do it for a year or two
"There is a transnational global movement to facilitate a fundamental paradigm shift, a Great Transformation"
"The global movement is a psychological, political, and group process, rooted in progressivism, in order to get a critical mass of public support to fundamentally transform western industrial economies and societies. There are various ideas circulating for what will replace the current system, and although there are differences amongst the various interested groups, they agree on the ultimate goal of ending capitalism and our modern way of life"
"The uncomfortable or unspoken truth is that for many at the centre of the Transnational Progressive Movement this global energy transition and Great Transformation is ideological. It is the replacement of capitalism and the post World War II framework with a repackaged technocratic socialism, complete with an industrial policy that picks economic winners and losers, not based on economic principles but through arbitrary processes driven by ideology, and agricultural “planning” that promotes small-scale organic farming and subsistence agriculture over industrial agribusiness"
"It is the type of federal government technocratic intervention Pierre Trudeau had desired in 1980, fuelled by the revenues generated from the National Energy Program, but failed to achieve. What the father failed to accomplish the son may be able to do with the help of supportive cabinet ministers."
Insane ramblings of infatuous? Nope, insane ramblings of the Alberta Government that Alberta taxpayers paid $3.5 million dollars to produce
I just saw this and I know where I am but sharing is caring right?
I know most won't take the ~Tenish min to watch this but it covers Justin's morning media lovefests, too bad they didn't fact check him the way they did that other Political figure that recently just left office.
See what I did there HairyAss?
A reminder: I voted for Trudeau in a large part because the alternative was a scary piece of shit. This does not mean I have my nose rammed up his ass telling everyone it smells like roses. A few things:
- Good on her for calling him out and pointing out the hypocrisy. I have to assume all of the other examples of him lying are true - she gave one clear example about the number of AZ vaccine doses coming by June. She also make a good point that as the Prime Minister, he should know the facts around those doses inside and out.
- I would not compare the level of lying by *any* politician to the level that Trump lied while in office. All politicians do it at some point but there are definitely levels to which it is used. If it's increasing lately with Trudeau, again, good on her for calling him out.
- Let's also be honest - she is also a politician. I highly doubt her posting this video is out of the pure goodness of her heart.
How would we know the level to compare any politician to Trump's level of lying, no one fact checks anyone else the way they have fact checked Trump?
In fact is anyone fact checking Justin besides the CPC politicians and the odd right winger that might get some air time like Paul Wells did there but it's not BREAKING NEWS like it would be if it was Trump delivering the same news.
And yes she is just posting this video for the goodness of the CPC party but to also show Canadians who Justin really is.
Most liberals hate her because she is married to an American military veteran, I like her because she is smart and is a little bulldog and fights like one.
She definitely seems feisty! From the video, she seems pretty smart and driven. She's also a politician so I intrinsically don't trust her motives.
re: lying. Trump lies to such a level that you can't ignore it and it came not just from him but those around him. It really got attention with the whole "Alternative Facts" messaging. And, in US politics at least, there was a lot more talking about not just Trump but all politicians. During the debates, for example, they fact checked everyone. Trump was always the #1 liar by an amount that eclipsed reason.
I would love real time fact checking stats whenever ANY politician is talking.
Michelle Rempel is awesome. Definitely one of my favorites for the party. She's definitely a for the people politician, and some of her spotlight moments are pretty good. She usually delivers her points well and wouldnt be shocked to see her take up running for leadership in the future.
Does she believe in science? If so, she should go for it!
She's given many speaches on social matters I'm sure you'd agree with. (Equality, technology etc) Plus, she's talking about how important the vaccines are in the video presented.
So yeah, I'd say since she believes in the vaccines and their value, she also believes in science.
I could be a dick... And say did you even watch the video?
But we seem to be doing good lately so I won't and will just leave it at a nice civil response.
I would love to see her run but she never will because of her American husband and the shit storm that would cause with the liberals and their media.
Edit: This is just my prediction on things.
I watched it.
You mean like that whole "Just visiting" thing?
Exactly, my point made right here.
The LEFT hate Michelle Rempel Garner it's so funny when they think there is something that is really nothing
What happened when she wore that little white number to work that one day?
Especially since she was there BEFORE the pandemic.
Everything I've read about her so far seems like she's smart as a whip and good for the Conservative party but, yeah, having a husband who is not only American, but also still lives in Oklahoma, is going to make it hard for her if she wanted to take on a bigger leadership role. I don't think that would be frowned on just by the (oh my God, the) Left but by her own party. I don't know what her husband does but she'd need to convince him to move to Canada and act as her man servant for it to work.
i think she could do big things for the PC and am very interested to see where she goes.
He has a military background and was injured while in service that's all I know about him then I found this.
I really like her as well and think she could do really great things but I think the media and left will spin the husband's US military past as a big bad thing to use against her.
Does she have dual citizenship?
You say this like the Conservatives wouldn’t do the same thing if she was Liberal. And I’ll say it again that the Conservatives themselves likely see it as a blocker.
Imagine if she was married to someone in China!
She would've been held captive by now!
Yeah, def not a far left thing lol
I think anyone with dual citizenship should be a disqualified for any federal political position. I don’t care what party they’re from
I was referring to this.
Dual citizenship is different than being married to someone with a different nationality.
