I respect locking the thread. Definitely derailed multiple times. Deleting posts in the Random thread? Weird... Making a comment to keep it on topic... Weirder. I wasn't restarting that election thread in there. Just posted a funny meme. So... What direction are we taking this?

Only a few people left. I agree the election thread was headache inducing at times. I, like many on here enjoy a good political conversation. Am I allowed to make a new thread? I'm sure a few have pondered it. But I'm also afraid it'll go sideways, much like the last one. It was one of the busiest threads on here. And there aren't many. Are we allowed to talk about politics now? If not the bolded New Post notification is gonna stay grey for longer.

To face the facts, Boing definitely broke the proverbial camels back in that thread. There were definitely many a time I was left shaking my head asking "why?". But does his pushing to far ruin this for the rest of us? What do you want us to do Steve? What are others thoughts?

I just want to continue venting about Trudeau and debating with those that carry that thread forward, but if I'm going to suddenly be policed everywhere I post in here, the milk that's already past its expiration date is going to finally sour. We suddenly have rules? It's been like 20 years without!.

Not trying to be belligerent here, I get it. Just curious.

Agreed, and I understand why the thread was locked...but it's kinda like throwing the baby out with the bathwater if you catch my drift.

I've never heard that analogy before.

I dunno, I just don't want to see the ship sink. I enjoy this forum and the few people who still post here. Its a dead medium I know, but I still love it. Don't want that bull shit to be a nail in its coffin.

When are the girls of RC gonna post their tits?

Really? It's been around like forever.

And I don't want to see this place go either. Would be nice if a few people came back.

Ah yes, the required "create a thread when a thread gets locked thread". Love it.

Hey I think it should have been locked sooner but this isn't my playground I just play here and I haven't broken any rules that I am aware of, have I?
Even the deleted post I thought I was just chatting with GrifterGrifter I was not looking to get into an argument or start any political "thing" in the funny thread it was just meant to be a comment that was all.
But it's not a big deal it's just an internet forum and I just posted in there again so I hope they are okay this time.

Let's be clear. I don't mind (and actually enjoy) political debate, especially Canadian. boing was continually crossing a line, IMO, and can just fuck off as far as I'm concerned. Bored as he claims to be, fuck that guy.

There have always been rules here. Since everyone has more or less grown up, it hasn't really been required to enforce them.

Not many rules. I mean, yeah there's always been a line. But it's always pretty well been a free for all/hazing/politically incorrect is acceptable place. New guys always had their asses chewed out and hazed til they either left or figured out that was just how this place was. :shrug2:

If I have ever broken any rules hit me with the ban hammer and let Harry and 17 swing it. I am pretty sure I deserve it. But I am also pretty sure I am not doing anything that hasn't been done on here 100X before.
I live and breath Canadian politics, it's just not the RC politic's but if any of of y'all ever want "talk" about it I will have a right of center opinion to share but I know none of you will ever want to hear that.

Just knock it off already. You're ruining what little conversation is left on here with your childish behaviour. If you want to be team conservative, by all means have at it but be an adult about it :curse:

I imagine she's just a figurehead for a larger group managing finances but still. I shouldn't judge. I have no formal training in my field and I think I'm somewhat successful at it lol

I’m not overly familiar with her but she’s held some lofty positions in government in the past 7 years. I’m hoping that’s due to skill set and not who her father was or her gender since trudeau’s asinine “because it’s 2015” comment. But i don’t think it’s fair to write her off immediately.

depending on how WE shakes out, this may not be a long tenure anyways.

since when does that matter? seems like all the time people get positions they have zero experience in.
