    Did you try to repair IE?

    Just go to add/remove programs and and find internet explorer. Highlight and click remove...it will give you three options
    1) restore
    2) remove
    3) repair

    try to repair it and if that doesn't work just uninstall then redownload through firefox.

    you will only get those options of you have a version of windows other than winXP. winXP rarely even has IE in the add remove list, only in the windows components list.
    even if you remove the checkmark from IE in the components list, all it does is remove the shortcut to IE from the desktop and such, but not the actual program itself

    dontcha just love M$ :happysad:

    usually errors in internet explorer are not the program itself, but all the crap loaded on by spyware, add-ins, BHO, etc :pissed:

    so if there are no errors in safe mode /w networking, then it ain't IE

    but if IE is to be reinstalled
    download ie6sp1 from www.microsoft.com/ie and install
    ..of course XP says it has a newer version installed
    so you changed IsInstalled to 0
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}

    If SP2 is applied, remove it, not going to work cause thats an even newer version of IE

    otherwise repair install reinstalled IE and of couse good old FORMAT and clean install is always recommended
