But to fly an hour from kelowna to van, sit for 4.5 hours then fly for 5 to Toronto then another however many to cancun with a 9 month old baby.. All over night, would not be ideal

    - - - Updated - - -

If I didn't have my daughter id sleep in the airport and not give a crap. Our original flight was to calg then off to cancun which is about a 4 hour flight. So when you compare the two it is bad.

I don't disagree. I'm dreading a two hour flight with a 10 month old with no layovers.

On another note, a good friend is getting married next year in Hawaii. I really would like to go but two things: 1. It will cost around 4k/person to attend! 2. It is in fucking October... so basically think their friends are rich, jobless people who can travel whenever.

Haha you'll be fine, I flew to Halifax last week(my daughter is 8.5 months) only hard part is all she wanted to do was stand or crawl. Bring your babies fav toys, flip the tray down and you'll be fine ;)

She's a certified wedding specialist who the bride and groom are using, we actually tried to book without long through her and the resort wasn't available. She's just trying to blame AC for the mess.

    It's actually a thing. www.wpic.ca

From what I gather you need two things to become one: i) attend a weekend course, ii) have 800$

Most of the time they are. But I think that saying applies to the wedding not the travel potion.

Gotta say. When I get invited to destination weddings, I always RSVP not attending. If it was my sister, I'd go. But, none of my close friends/family did destination weddings, thank god. I'm way too cheap to go to a destination wedding for an acqaintence

Grand Serenis is a pretty nice place, was there in 2010, its pretty big so don't be afraid to call the front desk for lifts in a golf cart.

oh geeze, thanks for letting me know that! how'd you like the food?
    wait, what?
oh wow, that's pricey! strange, when we looked a year ago it said it was full. We're just paying for a hotel, the dumbass offered to fly us west jet for an additional 400 per person so we could go straight to cancun....

Sorry to be Nr. Negative, but of all the big hotels in the Mayan Riviera, the Grand Serenis is the one I would never ever stay at. I'm sure thousands of Canadians travel there every year and have a great time, but the horror story to great vacay ratio is way too high for me at the Grand Serenis.

I got married at the Grand Sirenis last spring: zero issues, had an awesome time. We then spent an additional week at Barceló Maya Palace Deluxe. By far the nicer resort, but more expensive.
