Hey guys, I know a lot of you have experience with destination weddings so i thought I'd ask you guys. We're going to Mexico at the end of December for a destination wedding and we're paying a lot of money to do so. I emailed the wedding coordinator asking for my itinerary and it turns out our flight got cancelled and they have us flying the day before we arrive in Cancun. So essentially we have an entire day/night stop over in Calgary. My concerns is that they didn't inform us, they originally sent us our itinerary when we accepted the price of the trip, and they are not offering accommodations for our over night stay. What do you think, should the agency we're booking with be responsible? She gave me the option of flying Kelowna, to Van (stop over for 4 hours) to toronto then to Cancun( which seems ridiculous to me).

ALSO- apparently she cannot guarantee a crib for my daughter, we booked a year ago... is that weird or standard?

Hmmm. My wedding coordinator as at the resort. She had nothing to do with the flights.

So which flight was cancelled? Did they move you to a new flight or was it delayed?

    Ditto, weird.

I would suggest bringing a travel crib. The cribs there might be sketchy, our wedding guests brought their own.

Apparently air canada cancelled our flight on the 27th and booked us in on the 26th which gives us a day/night lay over in Calgary until our flight on the 27th to cancun

I'm bringing a crib now, it's just frustrating because we have paid for an all inclusive trip which I believed included travel and accommodations... But now it seems like we have to pay for extra hotels and travel

Maybe wedding coordinator was the wrong choice of words. He's the lady who has been booking all of us

It's odd for AC to cancel a flight a month in advance and them move you to a different day.
I'd tell your agent planner or whatever she/he is that you want to travel that day as that is what you booked. That's not the only flight that day.

Also if AC did cancel your flight and that delays you a day, they are required to pay you, I think it's a $800 penalty for that amount of time

Yeah apparently the flight they cancelled was the only one that would connect us that day to our flight out of Calgary to Cancun. She has a few of us leaving kelowna->van(4 hour lay over)->toronto->cancun.....and they leave the 26th and don't get there until the 27th.

I booked a flight to Halifax and because the time of departure changed without notice I was able to get a full refund. I actually called to cancel the flight and the chick did me a favor by asking me if the change in time worked for my schedule and if it didn't I could get the full refund.

Then I'd get on the phone with your transgendered travel agent and tell the bitch she's fucking you over and needs to be more accommodating considering how much money is being spent.

I have called her five times, emailed her countless times. She emails back saying either Toronto or our layover is the best she can do.

It's not like it's a 1000 dollar trip, were paying 4400 for the two of us.... I thought it was supposed to be stress free going on an all inclusive

That's counteracted by booking through air Canada. Just a tip Never give someone thousands of dollars when they have nothing to lose... Other than your suitcase.

    Love you Mitch.

4 hour layover? It's not that bad to be honest.
