Look at the UK now they dropped everything and are having a huge surge again.. we will likely see the same results people are going to be pumped to wear masks again

Yeah I feel like we are gonna get smashed... shouldn't have dropped masking imo. It's super effective given how simple a thing it is to do. I'm not sure what has people so convinced that the pandemic is just all of a sudden over.. these things don't hard stop.

I still wear a mask, and will for quite awhile, covid is not going away. I am just glad I don't have to hassle with testing prior to coming back to Canada from US.

There’s no rule saying they can’t bring the masks back if things get bad.

Unexpected PC today at 3:15. Not sure what to make of that. Drs from IWK release a letter yesterday saying masks should be worn in schools, technical difficulties causing the weekly report of #’s to be delayed until today and now a press conference at 3:15. This could be either yeah we beat it and everything is back to normal on Monday, or just kidding masks are staying.

I am as anti GOV as the next guy :hsugh: and I still intend to wear a mask in certain situations but it is nice to have a choice. You know my body my choice right?

My body my choice as it relates to Covid has to be one of the dumbest things you’ve ever posted on here. And, just to be clear, you are a god at posting dumb things.

It should never be anyone's right to force you to take anything into your body. I'm fine with mask mandates and whatnot. And I'm not an anti vaxxer. But nobody she be able to force you to take anything into your body.
I'm fine with *if you want to work here, you need the vaccine.*. I'm also fine with the rules saying if you don't have a vaccine you can't do certain things. No issues there.
His statement was not dumb. What if the government said you have to have a double dose of an experimental drug that has a 50% chance of causing you to lose 40% of your lung capacity in order to maintain your rights to travel abroad? You going to risk your cycling or hiking past times?

Sure it's an extreme hypothetical but the point is valid. You don't need to be so obtuse.

I will never blindly follow anyone and just do as I'm told. I've been in many situations where I've had people in charge who didn't know what they were doing and placed uneducated, ill informed orders on those under their command. Military and firefighting and even workplace wise. Some people have been put in positions they were ill suited for. That can be said for Jason kenny or Justin Trudeau or my 2lt platoon commander in 2 RCR.
I will always think things through and think of the consequences of my decisions.
Is covid real? Yes. Did I get vaccinated? Yes. Did I wear a mask? Yes. After the information was presented to me. And I was given the option to make a choice.
Do I believe in restrictions? Yes. Risk vs reward. Would I blindly follow anyone in power and take anything into my body just because they say so? No. Give me the information and let me make the decision. If I was a religious person and it was against my religion to take any sort of vaccine or pill or whatever, I would expect that to be respected. (Steve is gonna get triggered here. But whatever.) Restrict the shit out of me. Don't let me fly or travel or whatever. I'm no longer allowed to go to restaurants or the theatre or the mall. That is because if the *choice I made* and I should respect that. Make me take multiple tests. Like I said... Risk vs reward. But no one should ever be forced against their will to do something.

I didn’t bother reading what either of you wrote in full as it’s obvious you’re going on about vaccines and saying “I’m still ok with mask mandates”.

boing - go back and read what you posted - you said “my body, my choice” about wearing masks, not about the vaccines, which is what I called dumb. But, please, continue going on about how I’m a “woke liberal” or whatever else you think about me.

My body, my choice being used by hardcore conservatives for anything is comedy gold.

    My body, my choice!**

    * unless you're a woman, then we have a problem
** unless you're gay, then we have a problem

The political platform that talks a lot of 'freedom' but does everything it can to restrict it to what they dictate 'freedom' is.

The same goes for the political platform that talks about choice unless its something they don't agree with.

    Glad i missed it.

So, oddly enough this late in the pandemic, covid is starting to hit a little closer to home for me. A break out at a daycare where two of my cousins have children has affected everyone in their families plus their parents. I’m especially worried for my aunt….she’s had so many surgeries the last 5 years she’s basically got no immune system left. She was taken to the hospital but they deemed her not bad enough to have to stay. Then last night they had the ambulance over because it was everything in her power to breathe. Back to the hospital she went but they released her with some type of puffer. I suppose there’s only so much you can do, but it sucks to see her have to suffer it out. This is kind of my first look at what covid actually does to you. If she would have gotten one of the first strains of it I’m certain it would have done her in by now

From what I’m seeing/hearing it seems most food establishment employees are still masking, which makes sense but I’m not sure if it’s their choice or company policies

Thanks. We don’t expect anything bad to happen, but with her health, you never know

Here most people aren't wearing masks. But I'd definitely say Sobeys/Loblaws and some restaurants have policies requiring masks.
