im gonna agree with this one.. seems they wouldnt want them so when there parked "hiding" with the radar on they dont have lights on giving there position away.. beats haveing to turn the car off and on when there stopped "hiding" . sneeking up on someone/something with lights on kinda defeats the purpose of sneeking up dont ya think ?
ya i also a agree, i usually do see them at night on the side of the street with their parking lights though... acouple months ago a cop followed me for like 5km at like 3am with just his parking lights on.... i was like wtf??? i can still see you...
i would have stopped and got out and told him to right himself a tciket for not having his lights on at night - i don't know whatteh exact wording is, but there is a law that he was breaking - that or called 911 and said tyhat you had this crazy motherfucker following you and you can't get away and he doesn't even have his headlights on!!!!!
When I see any caprice / impalla / crown vic, no matter what lights are on or off I always assume it's the po po.
I always thought that cops had to have some sort of light on no matter what at night....as in when doing radar checks on the side of the road they have to have parking lights on.....I agree witht the no daytime running lights cause they sneak up on you at night but when using radar and/or watching places i thought they always have to have a certain light on......but thats me.
arent DRL's law in Canada though? How can they break the law to uphold the law.. Isnt that kinda like entrapment??
it's illegal for a cop to sit and wait for someone without their lights on....at least on pei....the only thing i learned in my law class.
I would have swore i saw some cops hiding behind an overpass on the highway from halifax... actually.. i know i saw them (thank god i had slowed down for he car in front of me.. i would have got quite the ticket) What would they describe as 'hiding'?
i saw a cop topday driving down windsor st and he had some cool looking lights on the top of his car... they were really thin and all white reflectors..(lights up blue and red when on i assume) but anyways it didnt look like a cop car at all with those lights... just looked like a crown vic with a ski rack!!!!
