    Vito has had a program like this called "Find Me" out for a year for PPC's. YOu just send a text with a pw to your friend who also has the program and it beams back the grid coordinates.

    This might be smoother.

    I just downloaded google maps for my blackberry... it's awesome!!! waaay better than blackberry maps.

    Unless you have gps on your phone (which I don't think the pearl has), then it tries to triangulate your position using cell towers, that's why it's probably off a bit.

    no... you have to sign into it and add friends. me and a co-worker just added it and did it. pretty cool

    I was playing around with this earlier. You can limit who sees where you are.
    I was mostly wondering how it would work if you lost your phone.

    no, you sign in using your gmail user name and password. your BB detects where you are (using GPS or triangulation) and updates it through google.
