My wife has been having trouble playing some videos with Windows Media Player lately. I'm guessing it's just a codec issue - what's the best "all in one" pack to grab and install?

I used to use something called Gordian Knot, but that was a while ago...

I stopped worrying about codec packs a year or so ago and have been using VLC Media Player. It works great and will play anything. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

*I* use VLC. This is my wife's computer and I'd rather just install something that makes Windows Media Player work for her than sit down and explain VLC to her.

    Thanks

Ah, gotcha. I always used to use the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack with success. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm

You work in IT, you should understand what I mean.

It's a different application, which means 500 questions.
