Not after they surrender, it's tough because on one side you feel bad for them, but on the other side, if the rescue gave him back, we would blow through the accounts so fast because everyone would surrender their dog, have Scars pay several thousand for the surgery and just get their dog back.

So this is Lady, she came to us directly from the pound near one of the native reserves. She had several hamburger bun sized mats on her and could barely move. I spent 30 mins cutting them off as I felt so bad. The next morning she got into the groomer and was much happier. Her confidence is coming around. I took her out to a friends place and she absolutely loved it out there. I noticed her mood shifted after that day in a positive direction. She can go on much longer walks now too. She had a lump on her tail that was removed when she was brought in for her spay, so that is getting sent to the lab today. She also had most of her incisors ground to the root so she had 10 teeth removed. The vets couldn't tell if her scar was from a spay or emergency C section, so they had to open her up anyway. Turns out she was already spayed. Hoping that means a quicker recovery. There is a retired couple lined up to adopt her so long as the lump is non cancerous. Fingers crossed for her as she is very sweet.

Lady was adopted on Sunday to a lovely family, the grandmother adopter her, and they live on an acreage so she'll have a great life.

My wife told me we were getting a puppy, and that was happening today. What I didn't realize is that puppy is a word that singular and plural mean the same thing, like deer or moose.

This is Hansel and Gretel and they are quite active. We weren't prepped for puppies whatsoever so I have a makeshift room set up for now. We do have lots of food, which coincidently gets turned into lots of shit. Anyway, at least you guys will get to enjoy puppy pictures.

Yes I realize they aren't active right now, this is hopefully a decent break. I have a few smaller kennels so that's where they will be sleeping eventually

They really don't stay still. I will try and get some videos tonight.

Also, any dudes who are single, you should consider fostering...

Hansel was adopted so we just have Gretel left. Brady has finally given up trying to scare her off by growling and she just climbs all over him. He looks like a defeated father after years of wife/kid pestering.

We popped by another foster home last night who have 9 new puppies, so when I get back from Boston I am sure a few of these will make their way to our place.

Munchkins are growing! Little Lily in the front is still pretty tiny but we are working on getting some weight on her. Scrappy and Bear are doing fantastic and naturally are the trouble makers of the bunch!

So Gretel was adopted by a wonderful family, we did it a little different this time, I actually went to them for the meet and greet. Lovely home for a dog and they are actually looking for a second puppy.

We kind of did an emergency intake on Friday, this dog was being surrendered back to SCARs because the owners said she was an escape artist, could jump their 7' fence (its probably not that tall). Said she was super high energy and needs to go to an acreage. Well turns out the reason she could get over the fence is because they had pallets stacked in the yard. She is a pretty good little pup, whines a lot in her kennel before bed, but that's not that uncommon. The owners def didn't walk her ever, they expected their senior dogs to tire her out. I don't think the owners walked much further than the pantry/fridge.

Her name is currently Lucy, but we started to call her Raven. Will get some better pics tonight. She is a Shep/Lab X

So many people just don't exercise their dogs and wonder why they see bad behaviour.

She is pretty big for 6 months, she is really a sweet girl. She pooped in my wife's office this am. That wasn't sweet, but it happens.

Foster crew goes back to the SPCA today for their potential final check up and drop off.
Little Lily may come back for another week where she may not be quite of weight for her spay yet...we will see!

Thanks buddy. Mama headed back last week. Babies go back this week. I'll take November as a no-foster month where I have family vacation this month. Then back at it in December :)

Can't help but miss their little faces. But so rewarding!

They are all tough for her, I do get attached but knowing that we get to help another one and the elation that comes over the new families when they take the dogs is great to see.
