Exactly. It was a joke that missed I guess
Small world Duggan - I have a cousin who is really heavily involved with Second Chance in Edmonton. Nice job.
Well Maddy got adopted, I was around for the hand off this time, so it was kind of sad, but I am happy she went to a good home. They have another dog and the guy is home all day. 2 hours at the park every day, fresh meat, and another energetic young dog.
We should have another rescue shortly, so I will have an update in a day or two.
Sorry it took a bit, but we have Pumpkin now. We get stuck with the names they show up with but most of them get changed when the new owners take them. She came to us with a pretty gnarly leg. They think it was caught in a fence, or trap. A lady heard crying for 5 nights and never bothered to look into it. Finally a little boy told his neighbour and they called SCARS. They find her holed up, pretty much ready to die. She was pretty gross when we got her, so we took her to the vet, go her wound cleaned up and gave her a bath so that she was bearable to keep inside. She is being spayed on Friday and the new owners are coming Sunday. I have had to clean her cut and re-bandage everyday. She is super calm when doing it, I sure as fuck wouldn't be.
This is kind of graphic, but it is what we are dealing with since it was too late for stitches, it is getting better though.
Poor baby. Happy she is on the road to a better life
She's cute! That leg
Yea she is a really sweet girl too. She is gone Sunday afternoon, so I am sure the domestic events coordinator will have a new one Monday.
She is beautiful and you have a wonderful heart!
I hope this thread is still relevant for you guys, I am kind of using it as a journal for myself. Anyhow, Pumpkin, now more aptly named Freya, was adopted tonight. Her leg is healing up very well, and she is using it fully. I took her for a long walk today, kind of a goodbye stroll. Her new home sounds great and it's actually pretty close to us, so I may get to see her moving forward. This is # 6 for us, and I think we will get another before we take off for Xmas.
yup, keep em coming!
Yeah I enjoy the updates. Kind of makes me feel good about this place knowing some people are offsetting Stang's contributions to life
Lol, the anti-stang. However my dog doesn't really like black people he doesn't know, so him and stang might be friends.
YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!!
This guy came in to the rescue in rough shape. They original thought he was shot, but sounds like he may have been impaled. By his own accord or by someone else I don't know. He had his insides hanging out, but has been through surgery and is recovering well. I think he is going to be big, maybe an Akita/Shepherd mix. He's got a wife beater on to keep him from getting at his staples.
What a great looking pup! Also - your wife's socks don't match.... (why do I notice this shit?!)
I have been worried about him, so I have been up a lot. Hence the 430am post. Here is a better shot of his Eyes. Wife could have 53 black socks and 3 white socks and she would some how manage to have a mismatched pair on everyday. " it doesn't matter, I am wearing boots, no one will see." Well, I see, and I think you look like a child.
lifes too short to match socks
Are they pointing wonky directions at the clinic?? Hopefully he comes around
And now so has the internet!
Very nice looking pup. Sounds like he's lucky to be alive
He's not a googely eyed pup like a pug, I was trying to get a good picture. Apparently they are a piercing blue, I don't have a full colour spectrum so I am not sure how blue they look to you guys.
Oh they're a grey/blue alright! He's a good looking pup
We have a pup with the same piercing eyes and she was a handful when she was younger and loves to sing the songs of her people
Don't worry the moose is fine
From the rescue website
What a beautiful pup - and keep these posts coming Duggan, this is a great thread
Hey last year I spent over two grand in Vet bills on an old stray cat I took in years ago. He was old and things didn't work out ..... but I tried where most wouldn't have.
Sorry to her about your cat man. Also good to see you're only an asshole to people, not animals.
This should totally be a blog. So many people could share and help save these dogs. You are in Edmonton now?
Yes I am, he was on Global this Saturday am. I can't find a link so I am going to record to my camera and then create a link. It really couldn't have showcased his personality any better.
Post the link in [code] so we can copy paste. I think the video gets blocked because of a security issue.
That's what you need?
