I can predict a shitty ride home already. Only two lanes are supposed to be open by suppertime. They said the entire job would be done within 24 hours.

I live outside the city. So anything to slow me down adds to my hour commute.

It is. Same as Aquafina and any other water that is basically ozonated tap water. If you're gonna drink bottled water drink stuff that comes from a natural spring source. But yea we should avoid drinking bottled water totally. We need to ensure that our tap water is held to the highest standards and if we become dependant on bottled water then the standard of tap water will go to shit.

Was just talking to the water commision - road still closed - no guarantees on a lane open at suppertime. If you can take a diff route - do it. People are being allowed to go to their homes on the road.

I'm at the top of Cowie Hill in the Spry and I just noticed my tap/toilet water has a brown tinge to it.

Kearney Lake Road Remains Closed After Water Main Break

(Wednesday, August 8/07) - The Halifax Regional Water Commission is advising that Kearney Lake Road, between Dunbrack Street and Parkland Drive, will remain closed throughout the night due to the water main break that occurred this morning at approximately 12:00 AM.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes for the drive home and to follow the posted detour signage.

HRWC are anticipating repairs being carried out over night, prior to the morning rush hour.

The break has caused discolouration throughout the distribution system. The discolouration does not pose a health risk and monitoring is being carried out for quality assurance. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience.

Holy fucking traffic clusterfuck on the drive home. Took me an hour to drive from work on Robie to Bedford. Just on the bedford highway. I had a serious case of road rage.

watch those things, they can cause mold if you dont change the filter every month.

As for our city water, I love it. Tastes great and its free. Our city bottles its water and sells it now, its called H2GO

Now the discoloration has gone from brown to black. It's stained our toilet bowl. I don't want to do dishes or take a shower in black water.

My g/f was saying the water was a different color at her work. She's at Minacs in Purdy's Wharf. I can't believe that one water main break had such an impact on the city's water.

I just watched the news and a spokesman for the water commission said it would be at least a couple of days before things are back to normal.

I'll have to go buy a few jugs of water tomorrow.
