Lease is up March 1st. We have already put in our notice that we will be going month to month. However, though out apartment is very nice, people here are too up tight. We feel it is time for a change and are trying to find a nice 2 level apartment that is smoker friendly and some what quite. My question is if we have put in month to month notice, what is the earliest we could move out?

most places will let you go month to month once you've completed your one year lease. howerver, you may need three months notice to go on to month to month or they will automatically renew you for another year (happened to me - us stoners weren't on the ball :kekeke:)

once you are on month to month, for example if you gave them a month notice today, march 1 you could occupy a new spot.

No 1 bedroom paying 760...figure we could get a 2 bedroom for around 800. As far as uptight...well we live on a floor with a lot of old people and apparently people went to the land lord about the smell of weed coming from peoples apartments so they gave everyone a notice saying that if they get a complaint about weed coming from apartments or from balconies, they would be calling the cops and evicting people. I say fuck them. I don't smoke weed myself but the girlfriend does. Anywho, they also warned people not to have their windows open in cold whether due to frozen pipes. However right now they are currently controlling the heat in our apartment which is bull shit because it's hot as fuck in here which causes me to open fucking windows. Simple shit i know..

I went month to month here, and had to give at least 60 days notice to leave at that point.

    It probably is.

You should read your lease to see what your specific situation is.

True. However, you then run into the problem of either your new or old place invalidating either the notice to quit or the new lease by claiming "April Fools."

Doesn't have to be as nice as this 'building'. For the price I am paying for rent my apartment is small as fuck.
