    I want to try one before I buy one, anyone want to lend me one or rent me one for next weekend? It will be well taken care of any if anything happens to it I'll be good for it

    well I would like the reach of the 2 but I'll lose AF on my F4 so I think the 1.4 is the way to go

    I have the 1.4 and it is perfect, you dont see any loss of quality at all, the af is a bit slower but still very good on the 70-200 F4 i have.

    I used a borrowed 1.4X at Targa this year and had zero problems with it. No losee of IQ as far as I could tell. One is on my long term shopping list for sure.

    I have a 1.4 as well, no issues at all with it.

    You know the answer is to buy both now. When you decide which one you want, buy a second one.

    And then buy a second of the other one too just so you have equal of each.

    I have a 2x and i use it with my 70-200 F4 with no loss of AF. mine is the tamron-f AF tele-converter 2x C-AF1

    I thought you had the Canon one, I'd like to give the tamaron a shot if you're cool with it
