Love the “at least my sources are all reliable” coming from KMDKMD who is the same one who considers far left to mean, “voted for JT”.

Yes it is easy to sit back and be an armchair quarterback and it very frustrating when you are not on the left spectrum to see JT do all this. I try to keep an open mind but it's a little tough, I am trying though.
I am not an economist so I can't tell you what part I am okay with but, this is the way I see things going. I see them all going down the shitter because we are not going to be able to pay back, all the money we are borrowing from all over the world.
We need to kick start of economy and our oil industry is the only thing we have and JT will not do that because Green Energy so he just keeps spending and and driving up the bill

Oh an moderna just cuts deliveries of more vaccines to Canada....

    Start the dog pile.....

Green Energy has way more upside than oil does going forward. Even more so now that Biden has the wheel in the US.

I am not going to debate that fact. But oil is still and will still be needed even in the green industry there will be a need for petroleum products and buying from other countries or shipping Alberta oil to BC and then by tanker to New Brunswick through the Panama Canal just isn't sensible because we can't get pipelines built in this country.

Facts are the economy needs a kick start and I am not an economist but I do know, to do this we need to get business open and people working and people spending.
During a pandemic this is tough and the money from the govt we can agree was useful to a lot of people but there was also a pile of waste and there was a lot of shady shit going on when stuff like this comes up.

If there's a political party that doesn't do shady shit, I'm all ears.

well with the current government it's hard to have conversation without doing that.
I covered your reply in the first paragraph and then broadened my opinion sometimes I get rambling and just go ... and I should hit the reply button but keep typing ... :shrug2:

I know but they were looking for more help before the shortage started from the EU and when JT was saying we had no Vaccines capabilities here in Canada because of the Tories now POOF vaccine manufacturers show up :shrug2:

If you had the choice of two options to invest in to develop a covid vaccine who would you pick anyone of these labs or the Chinese government who would you choose?

We get most of our drugs from China so I don't think it's a far stretch that we went there looking for vaccines

Most of my comments about how Canada is doing with fighting the pandemic fall into these categories:

    - look how well NS is doing. What are they doing that should be replicated elsewhere?
    - Canada is doing so much better at this than the United States. According to the study mentioned by the Macleans article you posted, the United States is almost last in the world.

None of that is heaping praise on Trudeau. I think he did an amazing job at the start of the pandemic - part of that was just being consistent in message, even just showing up in the way he did - on his own, not on a crowded platform like Trump was insisting on. The vaccine roll out, as you've pointed out, is a hot mess and this is where I can see that same group providing the data for the McLeans article has the US leapfrogging Canada.

Quote from the MacLeans article that illustrates the "Learn from NS" point:

"The only thing our leaders are doing well is blaming others. The premiers, who utterly failed to impose effective lockdown measures when there was still a chance to stop the pandemic in its tracks, and who are currently failing to distribute the few vaccines they do have, are blaming the federal government. The federal government is blaming the manufacturers. And, recently, both levels of government have been blaming international travellers, which is an interesting scapegoat."

The author of the article obviously ignores the success in NS.

Not great but do you think an appropriate time to rework our drug supply is in the midst of a global pandemic? As I've said, our reliance on China has to be reduced but now isn't the time to do it.

I would say, yes, it is time, especially given the pandemic. Why wait?

Yes it would have been a great time to follow the the rest of the world and order from Moderna and Pfizer then we wouldn't be in this mess right now and invest in some Canadian companies

The level of facebook propaganda stupidity in this thread did not disappoint me.

Anyways, I will continue to wear my mask to protect others around me and will happily get the vaccine when I become eligible (a vaccine built on years upon years of vaccination research. Even if we are using it to treat something new this is all technology and science that has been used before.)

Boing went full Donald Trump supporter ... just attacked everyone on here who didn't agree with him.. got banned after multiple warnings. Infatuous came back for a bit and tried to convince us that Covid-19 was a plan by Bill Gates to regain the title of being the richest man in the world. Oh and that China is slowly taking over Canada or something like that. It was REALLY hard to keep all the conspiracy theories straight. We assumed he was acting crazy as a giant troll or something. He eventually left. An old guy named KMD started posting. Ask him how the weather is and he'll find a way to blame Justin Trudeau. Then there's Grifter. He got a little extreme on the political side when Boing was around but he really levelled off since Boing left. Lately, he's mostly been busy working, supporting his family and helping pay to put Andrew Scheer's kids through private school.
