I'm very interested in upgrading, as front wheel drive licks ass. I tried a quick search but got lost and gave up.
An AWD mazda sedan? Cool. I like the styling of the 6, it's just too slow for my liking. I hope Mazda does their AWD system right! Audi, Porsche, Subaru and Mitsu are the only companies that have decent AWD systems IMO.
The Mazda AWD system will be an adaptation of the system used on the Volvo V40. I dunno when it'll be out, though. As far as upgrading, well... you could always do what I told you in the first place and buy a BMW. 3ers are nice.. Also, I would like to add that BMW has a great AWD system (I know, I sound like a fanboi now) on the X5. The X-Drive AWD system is far-and-away better than the junk standard-split shit they offered before!
Or a TT inline 6... But w/ 2.3L of displacement, a single turbo would not only spool but still make that kind of power. STi, for example.. 2.5L and 300hp
The cars they are going against (STi and Evo) are 4 bangers. It's a rally thing. 6 cylinders in rally cars are a no-no.
The 4cyl part of the equation is not what's in question here, it's the fact that they are slapping two turbo's on it, thus the term "TT" was stated. One bigger, more efficient working turbo on an I4 motor would have yielded way better results in the powerplant dept. compared to a smaller bi-turbo setup that will most likely have some horrible lag and weak #'s.
Yes, at the expense of low-end power, but that wouldn't be as much of a concern with modern twin-scroll turbos and ceramic ball bearings. As far as it being a "rally thing" that is retarded. Check out the Porsche GT3 rally car for a 6cyl rally car.
That's like saying F1 is THE only open wheel racing out there. Smarten up.. Sure, it's the most televised and funded, however it's not THE rally.
WRC is definetly THE rally.... Go ask 100 people what rally is and 90% will say WRC... WRC is the NHL/NBA/MLBA of rally for sure! Definetly the most popular and well known.
What a typical response. Just because a larger % of the population out there recognises the WRC to be the #1 rally, doesn't mean that the racing is any better compared to all of the other leagues out there, which have less funding and televised events, if any at all. Just because a brand/ID is the most well known, doesn't mean it is the best product in it's class. Do you think McDonalds has the best fast food? I certainly don't, even though i'm sure when you say hamburgers, everyone thinks of the fagot-ass golden arch..
When you say hamburgers I think of my bbq Ok flower, without using google name 3 other rally "leagues" for lack of a better term... . . . . . . . . . fuck off, I said no google
I can think of two off of the top of my head in which the competition is just as good, if not better then WRC. Canadian Assoc. of Rallysport (I watch it) FIA European Rally
